This is what we really want to see. People who actually work on their Porsche and make custom parts by the materials from local hardware stores. This is one of those few Porsche drivers that I respect. Besides, a very good and informative video. Im giving this one a like.

Im in the same situation, I have a 986.1 with a 986.2 bumper. I dont have the bumper trim and scalpers are asking wayyy to much for a simple plastic part. Gonna make my own with hex pattern abs mesh.

Great video. I admire your continuous mention of your dad. There's nothing in the world like a father and son relationship. I just subscribed to your channel and I look forward to more videos from you in the future. The grill by the way turned out nice.

This is actually one of the best videos I’ve seen on this. I thought the only option would be to cut the grille out and use fiberglass and bondo to install one of these grilles. Screw the hate, this is an amazing mod for any car
@franzcapones7 жыл бұрын
Wow never thought of this! Looks a lot easier than removing the whole bumper and cutting off some parts of it. I will give this a shot. Thank you!

This is absolutely the best video I've seen for making a mesh grill. You all made it, make sense.
@desparky6 жыл бұрын
Nice job, nice car. I love the colour. There's a lot of haters here. My only criticism would be that I would have put some sort of protective film on the original grill parts to protect the front face of them from rubbing on the mesh. Then if you later take it off and go back to original there'll be no sign that it was there. Great to see a dad and son getting creative. Worth more than the car itself.

Looks great, and great vid. Love the explanation and prep work, too. A grille like this will help protect your AC condenser (radiator is usually behind the condenser)- something Honda owners should take note of.

Came out pretty good. Future tip, any time you're making a template of something symmetrical, you only have to get one side correct then you use that template to make the other side an exact replica. No neet to trace out and template the left and right side, theyre both the same :)

Your "machine" is a jig saw. And I would have found a better mounting system than zip ties, even if it meant taking the bumper off. I would also have sanded/ ground/ round the edges before applying your edging so it doesn't poke through at some later date. Ask that being said, you did since really nice work. The final product looked really good, and being able to do things with your father is awesome!

"As they please"? Anybody can lease a Porsche and use zipties on it. 😂
@bensong16057 жыл бұрын
Rune Østner You're obviously just a child who has no concept of actual equity or credit to have made such a dumbass statement. Not everyone can just go out and "lease a Porche". I've read some dumb articles and a few dumb comments today, but your comment is definitely the dumbest I've read so far... I read an article earlier today, about a California man building his own rocket ship to prove the earth was flat (in 2017), because he "doesn't believe in science", yet used science to make his own rocket... And yet somehow, your comment suggests that you are even less informed than the guy in California...

Benson G Furthermore, anyone who uploads videos of themselves playing a game, shouldn't be calling grown ass men for children. That'll only get you in trouble, boy.
@bensong16057 жыл бұрын
You're pushing 40 yet crying on youtube... You still can't afford to lease a Porsche and as you so flagrantly stated that "anybody can lease a Porche" shows just how childish your mind is at your age. Again not just anyone can lease a Porshe either. So my point remains valid dipshit, and your child-like outlook on the subject is still rather funny, tbh. Also, last I checked you took the time to reply to MY comment with your own dumbass annoyance of an opinion, so if anyone here is the annoyance it's you bud.

Great vid - thanks for posting. Thinking about doing this for my BMW to prevent leaves from getting in. Problem is if the mesh is too large small leaves will get in - and once the mesh is installed you have to take it off to get them out. Have you had any debris get in there with the mesh installed?
