I know this video is a little old, but i just found it and had to comment. I owned a 900 in the early 90's and I was absolutley in love with that bike. Everything about it was perfect. If I remember right, they made the 600,and 900 in 85 and 86,and the 1000 in 87 and 88. I came across your video because I've started looking for a 600.i have to have another eliminator, call it a mid life crises our what ever, but it's time to relive some of those days I had with the first one. I am 50 now, and have a bad bank, that's why I've deeded ttyl get a 600. they're 60 pounds lighter and a 600 probably has plenty of speed for an old man. I'd love to find a red one I think they're fucking crazy sexy bikes. Your bike looked awesome and you did do a great job on the video I was very well entertained the whole time I think you spoke well covered a lot of topics and it was just enjoyable from beginning to end. Well I'll let you go I hope you still have your bike and are still enjoying it be super safe out there.

Thanks for the nice video. I agree 100% with your impression of this motorcycle. I was raised with bikes, riding on the tank with my father, and taking the handle bars before my 8th birthday. I am happy to say that I own a ZL600B2 (1996). Without a doubt, one of the best riding bikes (in this category) I have known. The only comparable one, in my opinion, is the 1951 Sunbeam S7. Even the "sound" resembles that old classic. The previous owner wants to buy it back, but he is "out of luck".

Dude, that video was great. You did a great job in describing all the cool that is the ZL600. I just bought an '86. It's stock and super rad. I love my bike and you are the reason I pulled the trigger when I saw it listed. $1400...and, yer right...you don't see these bikes anywhere. I love that.

I had a 5 speed model but found anything over 50 mph the wind tried to pull my hands off the grips, so I ordered a plexiglas clear screen which transformed the ride and not the look of the bike. fastest I ever went two up was 135 mph. I am 78 now a bit too old for a bike.

I just bought a 86 zl 600 and they are awesome and rare. they do use the same engine as the ninja 600 and a fun fact it will actually beat the ninja off the line as it has a smaller carb. the smaller carb means better idleing and better take off from a stop the only down fall being less power at higher rpms. parts are also increbily easy to find for them since they pretty much used the same design up through 96 (they changed they look but kept the same parts).

Thanks for the sub back Donnie, I'm happy to hear you like my stuff. I haven't had the camera long and I'm still getting to know it. I'm aware of the angle issue and have been trying to fix it, the problem with the GoPro is that you don't know what youre shooting until you upload it to computer. Great feedback though, always appreciate an honest opinion. Thanks. Chris.

Real nice bike you have there. BTW you did a great job on your first vlog. I found one for sale with 28K miles, looks great. Could you tell me when the valves need to be checked ? Thanks. yl
@stevenclark5709
@stevenclark5709 10 жыл бұрын
Just got my 86 ZL600 with 6,200 original miles but the valves were still pretty far off from being correct when I adjusted them. I'd say if you were going to buy that bike (or if you did) you should just do the valves asap. I will recommend 2 feeler gauges to set each set that shares a rocker arm together and Intake to .15mm and exhaust to .20mm. Got mine dialed in and she runs like a beast!

AMAZING VIDEO!!! i have been putting one together for over a year now and only have a few things left to finish!!! do have a question though. are air pod filters better for the carbs or should i rum the original airbox for it?
@jeffreysteen9820
@jeffreysteen9820 6 жыл бұрын
Brandon rogers hey Brandon you've probably already finished your bike, but my advice would be, if the carbs have been better, Ron pod filters. If they're still stock Jeff's use the Airbus. Your gonna love, love, love it... I owned an 85 900 and am looking for a 600 right now. It's 60 pounds lighter and im an old man now with a bad back so I think I can handle a 600 a lot better. Enjoy it, and be super careful out there.
