no distinction between gravel, light gravel, medium gravel, heavy gravel and dirt? what about slush, compacted snow and (regular?) snow in sweden? what about snow vs ice in monte carlo? what about cobblestones, smooth asphalt and concrete in germany? all of these are in the game and cars behave slightly different on each. why not tell us what the differences are, even if it's essentially just to show off the attention to detail in the game?

I like these tutorials but I just couldn't take the tarmac one seriously when codemasters have even admitted the tarmac doesn't feel how it should.

Actually, I try to improve my heel and toe skills with a shifter I know it's a little bit weird on Dirt. So I can take advice about that from your experienced fellas. Have fun.

@@RampantFury925 lmao, your feet are supposed to "slip around" that's how you press pedals down. Racing shoes are there to keep your feet warm and dry, stop you getting slashed by any potential sharp edges or jabbed by pointy bits of gravel, they allow you to walk to and from the car and they've got some fireproofing. They protect your feet, that's their sole purpose. Its fine that people wanna play dress up on their sim but it sure as shit ain't needed lol

Depends on pedals used, my T500 stock pedals are so flimsy, that putting shoes on means I lose all feel/accuracy from my inputs. With socks I can feel much better what I'm doing with the pedals, and how far pressed each is in each situation. Heel and toeing is a bit harder though, with thick wool socks it's okay

Get a wheel. This is still all useful info for gamepads though. I played the original on a pad almost a year and the techniques are the same as hes showing here, you just use the sticks and triggers instead of a wheel and pedals.

This guy is teaching you about the how to rally race and is horrible himself. His racing lines are terrible. He veers away from the previously driven lines (which have more grip provided they aren't rutted). Also in Sweden he mentions that you can carry more speed due to the embankments. This is false. You want to stay away from the embankments. However, if you have a high ride height, you can dip into the embankments to slow you down faster and reduce your braking time and distance. But going too far in and it will pull you in, destabilize the vehicle, and get you stuck.
