My favorite excavator memories were in a Deere excavator with my dad. We ran a Deere 992 D-LC for a few weekends together and to my surprise he let me begin to run it myself. It was the best feeling ever. Being able to master that bad boy he gained confidence in me. I was 8 years old at the time and he let me run a D8 by myself only a few weeks later. It was the old school 8 with the two clutch release handles up in front of you. I was so young, but big for an 8 year old because I’m 6’5” now, but I had to stand in front of the seat and use both hands to pull the clutch release out. 😂 was a bit tricky but I got good enough to carry a decent grade with it pretty quickly. My dad was awesome. RIP pops. 🙏

Great looking & running piece of history. I’m sure the memories came flooding back. Some of my favorite content of yours are the VHS videos of your dad on the B. Thanks for sharing!👍💛🖤

Yes it is I just wish we knew if the hours were correct if they are and the hour meter hasn't started over it's got under 3,500 original hours on it and the more I look at it I'm thinking that very well could be true!...them are my favorite videos also!....thank you!

Thank you!....well that's a great question I've been thinking about that since my plans fell through on the new house and shop construction due to bank policies which has been resolved with a bank thats willing to do things the way I want to it is now to late in the year to start construction especially with talk of snow already tommrow evening so with that being said the plan was to have the house up sealed up and my shop up and at least concrete in it by now and then I was going to throw together a quick sawmill shed and get the sawmill at least put in there and bring it in the shop in the spring and start the process of some safety upgrades then have it up and running the summer of 2024 as of right now the main components are be stored in side in the dry and hopefully I can spend next winter in my new shop getting it ready....but as we all know things can change and things can happen alot sooner so we will see what happens!....trust me I want it up and running more than anyone!!

What makes one track go faster then the other?thanks😊
@dirtgrainsteel
@dirtgrainsteel 10 ай бұрын
I haven't fully diagnosed it yet most 2 of the most common reasons are #1 the rotary manifold is bypassing so oil on that port for that track motor or #2 that side track motor is bypassing oil and is weak but I'm pretty sure the problem is in the rotary manifold both are fairly easy fixes

Thanks for sharing is it just me or does it sound like the engine was surging when you were driving it to the trailer
@dirtgrainsteel
@dirtgrainsteel 10 ай бұрын
Well I'm surprised we even made it off the trailer we got it to Zacs I took the truck home he walked out back and he text me and said it ran out of fuel I was thinking that cut it pretty close I did take 5 gallons with just in case though....some of that surging is just camera sound also....thank you!
