Little suggestion, get yourself a backpacking foldable or slidable fishing pole. It can be folded down to under a foot and super easy to pack. That way you can have on you all the time. 👍

Nice adventure thank you for sharing. I had a 2004 Disco, was great off road with just a 2 inch lift and larger tires. Got totaled when I got hit by an unlicensed/uninsured/undocumented driver. Switched to a 03 Rubicon TJ for my off road rig, but miss the Disco.

I always remember my grandfathers saying while fishing and not catching "that's why they call it fishing and not catching but he'd also go for hours without a fly on his rod because to him it really wasn't about the fishing it was just about being out in the wilderness. @@Captain-Awesome Dang dude i never saw this comment. I used the full takeout from a 2001 suburban. So 5.3 4l60e and even the push button transfercase. It all works flawlessley and i have a little over 5k miles on it. I would definitely do it again, i did the whole swap for around $1500. $800 of that was rebuilding the engine, and 400 was driveshafts. I bought a donor for around $900 and sold parts off of it for more than $1000. If i had a shop do it i would easily be spending 3-4 times that price. I 100% recommend tackling an engine swap yourself! Keep in mind i dont even have a garage, I did my whole swap on a gravel driveway and used my tractor as an engine lift.

Great video! We may have crossed path's as a group of us were doing the Lassen, Plumas, and Tahoe backcountry trail. We started at Poker the weekend before the unfortunate event happened with the shooting and were passing by on hwy 49 for the 3rd leg of our trip to Tahoe Backcountry trail when you guys were in the area.
