This video is from a few months ago. Using the Trimble GCSFlex system on my Cat 305.5e2 to dig a trench for some drainage pipe. The pipe is for a sump pump in the basement of the home. This Trimble system sure makes my life a lot easier! Like what you see? Check out The Dirt Ninja on Facebook here: / thedirtninja Be sure to hit the subscribe button to see new videos every week!

awesome videos cool to see how it's all done with equipment. I've been digging drainage lines off my gutters from my house with a shovel lol.

Having watched you use the Trimble system I would really think about getting it when I get my own machine. The time and labor it saves is unbelievable. We build houses and additions at my current job and can see a huge cost saving with it

Very cool, I like the ability to set a specific grade with that laser. I have a bucket with a straight edge welded to the teeth.

I thought my Spectra Precision system with a boom mount receiver was kinda trick, but the Trimble beats it soundly.

Is the laser on the bucket? Wouldn't your grade change if it was on the boom in regard to the boom angle but still read that it is on grade?
@DirtNinja
@DirtNinja 6 жыл бұрын
The laser is just used to reference elevation. This system has sensors on every part of the machine so it always knows where the bucket teeth are no matter the positioning.

get two old teeth off your bucket and weld a cutting edge onto them so that the teeth hook back onto the outer insertson the your bucket have a flat cutting edge

+thequattro20v No there is not a constant flow. Its more for the summer when it is very wet. Its holding up fine. I was on the site again last week

1.5% is pleanty, for sanitary sewer you never want anything over 1% really so you’re fluids don’t outrun your solids

I’m still not understanding why the lazer has to be set to match the slope if the system will do it on its own wouldn’t it be doubling the percentage?

@1963Bonde
@1963Bonde 3 жыл бұрын
The lazer has no correction for range, so if the lazer is horizontal you will be starting from the same height every time you move,
@streetfighterracing1583
@streetfighterracing1583 3 жыл бұрын
@@1963Bonde yeah that’s not what I meant in my question, I have similar set up but I don’t tilt the whole laser

@@streetfighterracing1583 If your slope isn't in the lazer, how do you transfer the height when you move?
@streetfighterracing1583
@streetfighterracing1583 3 жыл бұрын
@@1963Bonde I have a dual slope laser so maybe where we getting crossed up. I start on 0% and set up HI as typical then dial up the % on laser and carry distance til I have to move to next TBM.
