I hope the customer's cattle all can swim! If they come down to drink and it's muddy or they lose their footing, they will need to apply that skill. That's one deep pond! You could bury half of Derby in that hole! If the customer wanted a little pond outside his cabin to sit and watch the cattle, he may be a bit stunned at it's size and depth. It's starting to look like the campground job. On the bright side, cutting back that high spot got you enough dirt to finish everything up nicely. The 850J sure is LOUD! Wish I could lip read, ha! Whatever job you guys tackle, rest assured it will be big, beautiful and perfect! Jeez Aaron, the 100 is just about at max peak before sliding back down that bank! It makes a fast retreat when you reach the top! And the J is about 2 rollovers from the bottom on the backside, hope DP is leaning to the left hand side! Well, that's just my observations on the finishing touches and maybe it all has to do with the camera's depth perception. Anyway. nice way to spend the last 4 days, thanks guys for the entertainment. always fun! P.S. Closing remarks, DP says he hopes those cattle can swim, ahh haaa!

@dennis23767 сағат бұрын
The dam side seems higher then the wood line, pretty cool. Thank you and have a great week.
@myk555017 сағат бұрын
Hey, That kind of steep on the backside of the damn how you going to maintain that you probably need triple the distance just to level it out enough so you get a mower in there. That's why in Florida you don't want to be on a pond or lake or any of that stuff cuz more than likely it's a sinkhole. The next thing is it draws in mosquitoes and we have mosquitoes down here that will carry away a dog.
@myk555012 сағат бұрын
Well that when you tell your customer that mowing 1 to 2 times a year will let saplings take hold behind the dam which in 10 to 12 years will cause the damn to start leaking that's why you want to mow the grass regularly it was me with that property I would have just put a pool in and put a cattle waterer it's a lot easier than building a pond. I'd rather build a pool in the cabin then they don't have a mosquito problem either

Question: If the cows 🐄 get in the pond, are they going to be able to get out considering the steepness of the edges because that looks like a really deep pond?
@heatherlane9270Сағат бұрын
Once that 'hole' was dug all I could think was - the animals will drown for sure - thank goodness the farmer is going to do something about that (Farm girl of old here.) Huge pond dam for this one and care needed whilst forming the sides. Looks great though.
@WombleUK10 сағат бұрын
OH my god, the slope on the back of that dam has got to be right on the limit of how steep that Dozer can go without tipping. That looks proper squeaky bum time sitting in the Dozer at nearly 45⁰ 😮

At about the 13:30 mark, if i remember correctly, Aaron was displaying a great job of back drag grading and in other places as well, nice job Aaron, Mike, as I was watching you filling the back slope with the 850J I was observing the angle of slope by looking at what I perceive as straight growing trees contrasting to the angle of the dirt intersecting it and it looked righteously close to 40-45 degrees in angle of slope, how close is my guess? Nice job gentlemen, enjoyed watching.
