This is a very bad comparison. The 450 is really a 500 class. The review would have been better to compare the CForce 500 not the 400.

I bet you've never had one. You're just repeating something you've heard. I seen and used every brand made, on farms. They all break at some point. The Polaris was just as dependable as any other atv. The only difference is that everyone wants to use the Polaris , because of the extra power an performance,plus a better ride.

The CFmoto has a plate and mirrors so it probably has some aftermarket stuff tied on to make it legal to whatever their local requirements are for registration. I'm just guessing and trying to give it the benefit of the doubt. Maybe it's holding on a horn or something?

If you live in hot areas like the desert like New Mexico don't buy a CFMOTO they suck they get hot and have trouble starting when they are hot we have the 400 we had two of them got rid of one because my son was a little more harder on the throttle so I got him something bigger my daughter just cruises so it works for her but they both had the same problem when they get really hot in the summer they have trouble starting up after that brand new from the store I wouldn't waste my money on that crap ever again.

I'm glad you mentioned about the Polaris shifter. I don't doubt that its less accurate and mushy, but even bigger is that design is so outdated. I'm guessing that somebody at Polaris feels like that ugly twisted stick protruding out the side is a part of their brand recognition but it has to go. Thank goodness they didn't carry it over to the scrambler. I'm also not a fan of the big silver wheel hubs in the center of the wheel but maybe now I'm getting too picky.

We bought a brand new Polaris sportsman 570 and it's full of problems it has broken on the way home of electrical problems under 1000km it's terrible to drive and if you drive in rocky trail the motor gearbox has a Metallic slamming sound. we had a 15 years old honda rincon and no problems ever only thing was a really dirty air filter and carburator that was so dirty that it didint run good at all after I cleaned them it ripped so hard! it was the best atv i ever ridden every!! winter i drow it in the snow all day it started better then polaris and it doesn't take any gasoline compared with polaris (polaris takes too much gasoline for the power ratio)

I have owned 2 different Polaris quads, both with the 500 ho engine. When it comes to maintenance, they will nickel and dime you to death. Nothing major but you will be replacing brakes, bearings and bushings CONSTANTLY. There are also a lot of different electrical issues you may run into if you run your quad every weekend. That being said, though I no longer ride, if I needed to buy a quad again I would buy a Polaris in a heartbeat. The ride on these is absolutely amazing compared to any other brand. The AWD system is easy to use, just flip it into AWD on the go when you are nearing rough patches and don’t give it another thought. It will get through it, or crawl over it. If it can’t I doubt other quads will. Also, power is amazing compared to other similar sized engines, especially on the smaller displacement machines. My 500 sportsman was quicker and almost anything under 800cc except for the can ams. Sure I worked on it after every ride but oh well I enjoyed riding it more than any other brand I’ve ridden so I put up with it. Just wish I still had time to ride or I would still own my 13 sportsman 500

I will never ever ever want an ATV to decide when I want AWD and when I don't. Give me a 4x4 selector and a diff lock selector (or limited slip). I'm sure it works fine, but the same reason I want these are the same reason I don't like automatics.

We were looking at side by sides this week and I caught a mechanic outside at the dealer and he talked to us for about 15 minutes. He let us sit in other people's machines because none of the dealers have anything in stock right now. He said he'd never own a Polaris. He showed us 15-20 atv's and utv's waiting for repairs and they were all Polaris except for stuff that owners had wrecked. He liked the Kawasakis and Hondas they sold and said to buy Japanese...

Do not ever by CFMOTO they do not perform well in the Heat when they get hot and you turn them off they do not want to start back up right away they will if you force them by giving it gas and holding the throttle a little bit so it don't die but who wants to buy something like that when they can have quality. I bought two of the CF Moto 400 and they both had the same problem they were both brand new 2020s from the store I deeply regret buying them. I live in New Mexico it gets pretty hot up here so maybe if you live in a cool temperature area this four-wheeler might be better for you but still I wouldn't buy it

I have to argue, the right side is the right side for a brake. If you have ridden a motorcycle for any amount of time, or, ever.....you know that the brake is on the right. The clutch is on the left. I understand it's an ATV an it's automatic etc.......doesn't matter. Every dirt bike, motorcycle, and even 4-wheelers that are geared, and require the use of a clutch........the brake is on the right. It's always on the right. Who the F decided to put the brake on the left?

single lever brakes? definitely not something i would want on my 4 wheeler. why not you ask. well if im climbing a hill and i happen to lose momentum and not make it, i can pull my front brake lever and back down the hill safely. putting any friction on the rear brake pads you risk the quad coming over on you. same with going down a hill, your rear brakes only need to be applied and in some extreme situations finesse the front brakes. you never want them both to be engaged at the same time all the time.

I have a sportsman 570 with over 400 miles and a cf moto 400 with over 500 miles. both ridden on the same trails and in the same way. I also use the cfmoto to plow snow but not the sportsman. cf moto has had no issues at all, sportsman 570, replaced the fuel pump and both rear axles. I was skeptical about buying the cf moto but for me the savings out the door of over $1500 vs the cost of a 450 sportsman it was more than worth it. the ride is good, it makes good power for a 400 and so far has been more reliable than my polaris 570. I would definitely recommend anyone try cfmoto especially if in the market for a second ATV.

had the cfmoto zforce for 3 years...no issues yet. has plenty of power too. a little stiff int he suspension but its ok. i get much more for my money. ill be putting up videos of my cfmoto soon too. great bike! I have 1900 miles on my polaris 570 and i have 1 failed belt, and already a leak. but it definitely as good down low grunt vs the cfmoto for climbing in Colorado rocks and also much more comfortable as far as suspension goes. so far no issue engine and tranny though

Hello, I am interested in CF atv, I am from Spain and in Spain nobody can tell me if they are trustworthy or not, I have only seen bad comments about them, could someone help me and tell me if they are reliable or not? Thank you very much

@dirttraxtv 4 жыл бұрын
If you're only seeing negative comments about them, that's pretty telling. Talk to your local dealer before considering buying. See if parts are available in case you need service and make sure he's got a good program for you.

@@dirttraxtv I see the problem in that in Spain there is only one importer of this brand, in case of failure it would possibly find spare parts but it would take months to arrive, or so I think. The question of reliability I ask because these vehicles are manufactured for the offroad and I would not like to have breakdowns in the middle of a mountain far from any road. I have looked at the yamaha and can am atv but there is a lot of price difference between cf and other brands for that is my doubt, thank you very much for answering

I'd still go with the Kymco if I wanted the best price. The 450i makes quite a bit more power than the CF Moto 400 as well. The Kymco 450I is basically identical to the Arctic Cat Alterra 450 as Kymco makes the engine for both.
@alburd1

They all come with that zip tie when they are new. I was at the dealer and they all had it. I bought a 500cc CF and it had it too. I took it off and nothing popped out of place or anything. I assume it has something to do with the original packaging? I will say this, SO FAR it's been a great rig. I got a brand new (2017 model) 500cc 4x4 with dif lok, power steering, winch installed, aluminum mag rims for $4999. and when you ride it you don't feel like you are on a piece of shit. It rides pretty nice, looks great. I'm an old school Honda guy and I like this rig. A lot of bang for $5000. My only beef is it doesn't turn very sharp. But I can live with the occasional 2 point turns..

Hmmmmmmm To bad you only picked two. The Polaris for long term durability in my neck of the woods{ From friends and personal experience} in N.E. breaks down alot. Whereas I went with the Arctic Cat Altera 450. In my experience and that of alot of N.E. friends Arctic Cat (especially the Altera series) is right up there with the toughest and most durable machines on the market. especially the 2021.

All Terrain Experiments It could be Sleeved, sometimes companies will take a certain engine, and sleeve it to reduce the bore for a certain size class. It's cheaper to sleeve down an existing, oversized engine, than to develop a whole new block for the smaller class. This is especially common in race ATVs, where they will take a Engine from say, a 550, and sleeve it down to about 435 CC, so it fits the 450 class.

For $1500 in savings gives some room for modifying the suspension and moving the brake lever to the other side if you desire.. I have had my Arctic Cat since 2003 and one of the first things I did was to change the rear springs and make adjustments to preload, tire pressures and added 1 inch spacers on all 4 corners, for my personal desired handling characteristics.. Next changes were a tad more aggressive 6 ply radial tires.. Having owned 4x4's for over 50 years (Jeeps, Scouts, 4 wheel drive pickups etc), I have discovered that in many and almost all cases lower power is better (fosters traction rather than spinning and digging deeper holes).. Narrower tires also foster better traction (gets down through the muck to find solid ground for better traction rather than floating in the muck, and trying to paddle in the sloppy stuff).. Tires and ground clearance is the key with just enough power to pull you through without excessive torque and spinning.. My 400 has shamed many with over twice the engine size.. Left them scratching their heads.. Who do you think would win a drag race on ice, a low powered VW Beetle or a high horse powered Corvette - my money would be on the VW for sure..

I know 2 guys that had Polaris, my cousin who had I think a 09 and my friend who has a 2011. Polaris seems to have tons of power, a 400cc is fast as hell. Smooth riding, great AWD. But you can't keep the damn things out of the shop. Polaris seems to be good as long as they are under warranty. Soon as the warranty is out, sell it. I have no idea about CF Moto, no experience with them.

I do like a Polaris, but when I went shopping for a mid-sized 4x4 they just didn't give me the good financing deal that Honda did. I got the 2016 Honda Rancher 420, DCT, IRS, fuel injected model. Well equipped, smooth, tough and reliable motor. For my use it fits the bill perfectly. Polaris would do much better if they would make better financing terms.

I'm a bit late, but they are both proven great quads. It also depends on what type of Suzuki it is. Given that it is a 750cc I feel that it would clearly out perform your 400cc, but that does not necessarily mean it's better.

I have a CFMOTO 500 and a Polaris 570. The CFMOTO comes with better tires than the Polaris so it outperforms on crap terrain and river crossings. The Polaris does have a bit more get up and go. Neither machine have ever let me down and for a beginner, the MOTO is easier to manage. Sometimes I prefer it. The CFMOTO is much cheaper and more easy to replace if I destroy it in remote Alaska doing wild Alaskan things. But the Polaris sips gas compared to the CFMOTO which is important when fuel stations are not so easy to get to.
