I guess this is the best and the most easily applicable "Dirty tricks" recipe. Thanks a lot Gunjan! It helped me punish quite a few Fried Liver adepts online. Every time I start a game as Black now I always dream that my opponent falls for this trap.
@GoldenBoyXCM
@GoldenBoyXCM 3 жыл бұрын
its not a trap, apparently its still losing for black. But you take the opponent into a wild game with this one.

@@GoldenBoyXCM I've seen this opening played between top chess engines, often resulting in a draw. But you're right, it's a hard battle for a draw.

I ran into 1. e4, e5 2. Nf3, Nc6 3. Bc4, Nc6 4. Ng5 against a +2000 player in a rapid tournament. I didn't know anything about it, but I am VERY happy to have found this series! I continued with 4. -, d5 5. exd, Nxd?! and got into trouble since you should play Na5 and all that. I fought well, but with 1485 I may not claim to be the toughest chessplayer around. Of course 4. -, Bc5 is "dubious", but having studied the Traxler a bit, White certainly have to know a LOT! Thanx, GJ!

GunjanL I'll add my accolades to all the rest. Your genius lies as much in your presentation as the analysis. Both are top drawer. Most importantly, you make chess into a game again, which is what it was all along--not a contest to showcase brilliant insecurities. Thanks much from dabblers and students alike. Both groups benefit from what you do.

great video. i always had a hard time playing black because i never knew about good openings black could do. especially against that knight fork that white plays at the beginning of this video. this is very helpful. im currently playing a game against a friend of mine and he played something similar with white, but instead of using his white bishop to protect his white knight to G5, he has his white queen on B3 eyeing down the F2 square with both his knight and queen. i assume he's going for the check mate by getting his queen to F2. ive moved my black pawn to D4 to stop the fork and hoping to make a counter attack with my Queen to F6 and bishop to C5 to see if i can get the mate in like 3 to 4 moves. we'll see what happens. the game would already be over if i knew about this video before playing, but oh well, it's a learning process. now i'll be prepared for the next time.

Gunjun, You stated in TraxlerCounter attack on possible move 11 or 12 for white that "if white plays d3"(attacking knight) "we can simply capture this pawn with the knight" ?? Black knight can just take the pawn ??(on c2 - why ??) Why wouldn't black play Queen f4 Checkmate !! ? confused, Mark

At 8:11 you said Qh5. .But I think its a mistake. . .Night Takes Rook and Bishop takes queen. .But after that Bishop keeps a check taking our queen at h5. I think we have to go to Queen at h3. . Correct me if I am wrong. . Am I missing something ?

If NxR and BxQ, and Bf7+, QxB, NxQ and and white is ahead the exchange and black has 2 pieces en prise. There is still the threat of Nc2 winning the rook (exchange) currently the white rook can capture the bishop which is guarding that square, but one of black knights is unprotected, so which ever piece he saves he loses the other, and then even after winning the exchange he is down a full piece. White king can capture that center pawn if white blocks the black rook knight connection with his knight and now black has 3 pieces hanging everywhere. If white plays RxB instead, black can either play KxN or Nc2 trapping the exchange

What if 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc5 3. Bc4 Nf6 4. Ng5 Bc5 5. Nxf7 Bxf2+ 6. Kxf2 Nxe4+ 7. Ke3 Qh4 8. g3 I met this variation against one of my opponents and felt totally crushed... Queen has nowhere to go, as far as I can see. Letting the knight go isn't good either as I lose too much attacking pieces.
