Aw, they forgot the gravy that sank the German Navy or the rats, the size of alley cats. We used to sing this in the army.

I remember singing this one as a teenager at Boy Scout camp in the 1990s! After an unfortunate incident one summer, I became “Nick, Nick, who got bug bites on his...” 😬😬😬

I bought this LP back in 1980 or thereabouts and made the mistake of leaving it overseas when I spent some years in Europe. I've beep deeply regretting that decision ever since, as I haven't been able to find anywhere to buy a copy since! Matthew, if you have the entire album, is there any chance you could upload all the tracks - or if you're interested, would you be willing to sell me your LP?

I heard a version of this back in the early 1960s, sung to a different tune, and instead of the names of various people and what they were doing, the verses were things like, "Oh, it's rum, rum, rum, that makes you wanna come, in the Quartermaster Corps..." usually ending with "Oh, it's cold roast duck that makes you want... a sandwich!"

my Dad used to play this on the accordion. But a less risque version. It was whiskey whiskey whiskey that made us feel so frisky . and it was gin gin gin that made us want to sin..and it was beer beer beer that made us feel so queer. and it was wine wine wine that made us feel so fine. Great song, brings back lots of happy memories.
