Try "Follow the Light", "Thriller", "The Way She Walks" and any other song they do. I haven't heard anything bad from them yet. Your first reaction to them was great. Enjoy!

Nice reaction there. :) As far as I understand, Aron (the drummer) can actually sing pretty well, but in this video, it's just for show, and the gospel choir is all Jonah. Henrik (the bass player) said this about Next To You, in an interview with BassMagazine: "That song took forever to write. Aron and I wrote the chorus in 2016. We found it in a drawer and tried a bunch of new verses with it until we got the right one. Then at the last minute, Aron wrote the gospel choir parts. He sent a very funny demo in which he marked where all the different gospel parts come in and what kind of voice they had. When Jonah recorded them, he had a chalkboard with all the different characters in the choir, and he distorted his voice to match each character and so none of them would sound like him. The groove has our typical, swung-funk, triplet feel, but the key is the Bootsy funk formula of having a heavy one to make all the subdivisions after it work. Aron wrote the chorus bass line, which is keyboard bass-like, and it worked best with a combination of fingers and slapping." Also, the drummer doesn't play a double kick. At all. Go figure. :D (As a side note, the dietitian mentioned in the credits of Work Shit Out is Jabba the Hutt, hahaha.)

Follow the light gives you a bit more of Henrik. Look for the him "licking the thumb" before he takes off (not for long enough, but still, I think you will like it).

Dude, I really enjoyed both of your Dirty Loops reactions. Since it is obvious that you appreciate the talented bass work, you should treat yourself to watch their videos "Bitten by the Kitten" and "old Armand Had A Farm". Not to do a reaction video but just for your own enjoyment. However, I'd live to see you do a reaction video to their collaboration with Cory Wong called "Follow The Light". Take Dirty Loops and add a guitarist and a brass section. It is awesome.

Dirty Loops is the best band to come along this century! Their catalog is mind-blowing, and you are about to go down the rabbit hole of their phenomenal music. I'd suggest BITTEN BY THE KITTEN if you want to see Henrik Lindner (the bass player) showcased on his 6-string bass using all of his fingers. It's just him and the drummer (Aron Mellargard), and is a short instrumental. Then there is FOLLOW THE LIGHT, TURBO, their cover of Michael Jackson's THRILLER, BREAKDOWN, and on and on. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJupn4OMfdSkgbs P.S. The vocals on NEXT TO YOU were all done by Jonah Nilsson (lead singer/keyboardist). They were just goofin' in this video, but Jonah does also play drums quite well, as evidenced in his video COFFEE BREAK.

So, if you’re looking for more easily accessible, Rock You is your choice. And Hit Me from 2014. Poprockjazzfusion stuff you can sing along to.

Some more info: They started out with covers on YT of song by Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and others just for fun, with jazz-fusion arrangements. Went viral som 11-12 years ago. Picked up by David Foster. Did Loopified, full album 2014 and toured all over the world. Then paused, did solo projects, came back 2019 with EP Phoenix (includes the two songs you’ve listened to). Did a collab with Cory Wong (Volfpeck) last year. They’re from Sweden, Jonah and Henrik actually lives a few blocks from me. And all vocals are Jonah, Aron at the mic is just for the act.

Great hanging out and listening to this, Mike! Yeah, this song is pure joy and fire. Henrik is a god on bass, and I feel he brings so much to every Dirty Loops song, but then, each one of them does. Jonah’s heavenly vocals and riffs, Aron’s clean and tasty drumming and how he hooks in so perfectly with Henrik’s playing…. As others have said, “Rock You”, “Coffee Break is Over” and “World on Fire” are all really great Dirty Loops songs. Then there are their collaborations with guitarist Cory Wong, like “Thriller”, “Turbo” and “Follow the Light”. And so much more. Enjoy that journey, man👍

Thanks for the shout-out! What a great reaction! This is why it's always so fun to watch people react to this group, they're simply on another level of musicianship. The amazing thing that you'll find out as you listen more to them is that almost every song has that same "freshness" and wow factor, they never cease to impress and surprise! Their music is very over the top and if there's something that they're often critiqued on, it's precisely that, but they certainly know this themselves and "more is more" is sort of the thing with this band. If you'd like to hear something more mellow with them I'd suggest "Breakdown" - otherwise there's just so many great songs to choose from, Rock You and Follow The Light to name a few.

As a bassist, Henrik is who I wanna be when I grow up. I'm 33. I will probably never attain that level of proficiency, but I can damn sure appreciate it. I may never be on his level, but I *will* learn this song. Recommend Rock You, also.

I really enjoyed your last Loops reaction so seeing your new posting was an anticipated blast. Loops always play with energy, good vibes and enthusiasm. That said I feel like the reaction videos that work best are the ones that come along with that same uplifting, energetic vibe. Glad you're feeling better and you did not disappoint. Oh yeah and please share some more Loops reactions with us. A couple of things-Dirty Loops love to play around and have a great if peculiar sense of humor. Though the drummer (Aron)looked like he was singing it was all Jonah. Jonah has said that he made a point of singing all the harmonies a little differently so it would sound more like multiple singers. All the band members are multi-talented but on this video Henrik was just fooling on the drums as Aron was on the bass-all part of the Loops roller coaster. Dirty Loops have no bad songs so I'll merely suggest a couple of my favorites: "Rock You", "Follow the Light". "Hit Me" and one of their older ones which has really been growing on me "Wake Me Up" some more wonderful bass work toward the end of this one. Looking forward to more of your reactions and thanks!

Thanks for the great reaction! Dirty Loops is extraordinary. Next, listen to a new band out of Wales, Cardinal Black. Their song “Tell Me How It Feels” is great. Rolling Stone has taken notice--the lead guitarist, Chris Buck, is hugely talented; the real deal.
