Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Dirty Loops! You'll find most of their music is equally good and filmed in a studio environment, like "Follow the Light" and "Thriller", both with Cory Wong. However, they just released a new song that visually is quite different (mainly a take on an 80's music video) called "Run Away", but this time the bass player (Henrik) is the star rather than Aron (the drummer), and will leave you wondering what did you just hear (not unlike "Work Shit Out"). Enjoy digging into Dirty Loops, you won't be disappointed. 😀

Whoo-hoo - a DL track, they are 🔥! Amalgamation of funk, jazz, R&B... 3 incredibly talented, top-shelf musicians. Follow the Light is one of my favs...Thanks Saeed!

Perfect, honest reaction! You have to be very special to be able to fully process Work shot out in one go. I can almost promise you that their new song, Run away, will give you a similar, but very different, feeling. I do hope you react to that, after having regained your composure with some other Dirty Loops song (though they all give you something to ponder on)! DL "standards" include Rock you, Next to you (I think they thought of them in that order), Follow the light. But all songs are at least somewhat fantastic, and always fun to watch..

This is the first of their performances I saw, too. Now they are -literally - my favorite band. They are amazing - 3 world class musicians together to play the music they love. You should check their latest - they just dropped Run Away, and it's like nothing else they've done - and amazing. Run Away will get under your skin and won't let you go.

Thank you sir, great reaction! 🙂More, please? What song? Well, anyone! Hahaha... But a good number 2 could be one of their first songs on KZbin "Hit me!". Cheers from Sweden.

I’m a 79 year old musician, composer, and producer. I first started watching your channel when you were reviewing music from a time when I was likely closer to your age. Dirty Loops is by far my favorite group. So it’s great to see you reviewing music from all over the spectrum of time and place!

Saw them play this in a club Silver Spring a week ago. The drum kit that night was half that size but it didn't matter. They also had a 4th man, an extra keyboard player but what was unexpected to me was that they were pretty funny in between songs. I learned about them when I saw Jonah Nilson do a song with Jacob Collier. If you like Pentatonix then you should like Jacob who is also touring the US soon. Maybe start with Bridge Over Troubled Waters for the arranging, All Night Long for the playing or Moon River for the close harmonies a capella singing. Guessing from the bands you've reacted to that you also might like Altin Gun from Amsterdam, although their influences are more Turkish. Speaking of guys who met in college, 50 years ago Donald and Walter became Steely Dan and the album and the song Aja was born. That also has a killer drum solo within by legendary Steve Gadd. Best session players on the planet at that time.

Somebody else has probably already posted these two things that everyone says about Dirty Loops. "Dirty Loops are your favorite band's favorite band" "Dirty Loops are the band where every member of the band is the most talented member of the band"

Haha Jonah’s being in good shape, yeah! But so is Aron on drums 🔥🔥🔥 He’s been credited with co-writing a lot of Dirty Loops’ tunes, lyrics, even most of the bass lines. Besides that, and being a fantastic drummer, he also edits all of their music videos. Check out their tracks “Rock You” or “Next to You”. But then, everything those guys do, is pure gold ✨✨✨ Thanks for that fun react, bro 👍

Classically trained at the Royal Academy of music in Stockholm in composition and Jazz. Arron the Drummer writes most of their music, including bass lines for Hendrik Linder who is one of the best basists in world. Johnah sings ALL the tracks.

I always love people discovering Dirty Loops, so much open-mouthed amazement! A recommendation since you liked the keyboard solo: try Snarky Puppy's Lingus. More jazz and funk than DL, less pop. The Cory Henry keyboard solo in this song is considered by many to be one of the best improvised keyboard solos ever recorded (not piano solos, synths/organs/electric pianos). And I love Jonah's playing, but Cory Henry takes it to an even higher level. Maybe even two levels higher. Its so good its crazy! Snarky Puppy is its own rabbit hole, by the way. Don't say you weren't warned!

Great newbie Reaction - feel free to do more, plenty of their great songs and videos available to have a gander at - not like anything else, fantastic musicality and very inventive - the new "Run Away" is so funny and ingenious - try "Breakdown" or "Next to you" - or the Cory Wong collab
