The lawn care company I work for we had the same thing about a month ago. We keep a back pack blower close by and are we're constantly blowing the Ventrac out. Dry condition like you. Always enjoy your videos

I use a hand held leaf blower to clear away dust like that. I avoid water washing ins as much as possible, but once or twice per season I just have too.

I have a really good Stihl backpack blower that I keep in the truck. I also have a custom compressed air tank system in the truck so I can use the blow gun as well
@rooster3019Ай бұрын
@@bluecordterrainmanagement I should get one of those radiator cleaning rods for garden hose. Its pretty tight behind there. My backpack might blow the 4500 away; Auntie Em, Auntie Em....

I get the same crud on me late fall or early winter. The fan on the canopy got rid of it on me. I blow it off first with the leaf blower. Than powerwash. The air compressor works better as I see. I think it is the seed pods.

I would LOVE to have the Fanopy but sometimes I need to put the ROPS down and that really deters me from even trying it out

Excellent content Bradley! Love watching your vids. I get the same black dust every year in the early fall. I was wondering if it’s some kind of mold spore. I wear a dust mask during that time of the season. My Ventrac and clothes will be just as black as yours!

I've been looking into good respirators for years and it's times like these that I realize I need to get one. There's only such much a drive on rag can do and I didn't even have one that day
@andy09137Ай бұрын
First guess, mold spores, aka SMUT
@bluecordterrainmanagementАй бұрын
I had thought of that as I did run over a mold sphere that was larger than a basketball, but the dust from that was yellowish

ALERT! Bradley; very important, Wash your cloths in tide. Do you know why? This time of year it is too cold to wash them out tide.

@ I was thinking when you mentioned a fire, farmers will put sticks, branches, trees, and brush in the middle of the field and burn it so it can can be controlled and so it won’t catch any other trees or anything on fire. They will also do this in a field because it’s good for the soil so other than the fungus option that could be an option.
@bruceslawncarenist9234Ай бұрын
Here in Ohio under certain conditions we get a orange or black fungus and it makes a mess of everything it does wash out than goodness
@bluecordterrainmanagementАй бұрын
I was thinking it could have been fungus. I ran over one larger than a basketball on that job and it formed a huge cloud of yellowish dust that followed me for what seems like forever. I held my breathe as long as I could. It's time to get a good respirator!
@ZanderthelabАй бұрын
Yeah we do. Some of them are like puffer balls and when you hit them it’s like a cloud of dust. They are nasty.

I have the Flail mower attachment and it provides the best of both worlds (tough-cut vs finish deck). were there not fires in the northeast several weeks ago? maybe it soot.
@bluecordterrainmanagementАй бұрын
I may just get a Flail. It would do a really nice job in these conditions
@luisking7228Ай бұрын
@@bluecordterrainmanagement They offer two versions of the FLAIL DECK, the Fast-cut and the Finish-cut version. Please see if Ventrac will let you Review both models and give me your opinion. I have the Fast-cut version and I wonder if I should have purchased the Finish-cut one. Thank you.
@bluecordterrainmanagementАй бұрын
@@luisking7228 I haven't personally used either but am told that the fast cut is the way to go. I'll see if my local dealer can set up a demo opportunity for me to upload here
