Great video.really enjoyed it. One thing I want to mention. I've been using bilt hamber for about 10 years and have never had any issues with any of their products, including surfex HD. I usually mix that about 10 to 1 for really dirty cars l, works a treat.

Re the comment about Bilt Hamber. Been using Surfex HD as my go to APC for a number of years now. It’s incredible stuff, and I’m reluctant to change to something citrus based at the mo. The only down side with it, is it crystallises in the bottles, and clogs up the nozzles.

Using Bilt Hamber Surfex HD requires knowing the dilutions per PIR and testing. I use it for tyres, wheels and under the fenders on 15 to 1 as well on paint but on paint don't let it dwell too much because it is fast and effective. On filthy carpets 20 to 1 has been good for me.

Another great video Paul. Nice to see autosmart getting a look in, there is nothing to touch red 7 for wheels or body contamination. May I suggest G101,tardis and cobalt for future reviews? Have used G101 for years on everything from engine bays,tyres,arches,wheels, carpets & dried on fly shit ( 20%) to a pre wash (10%) Tardis is always a one hit and it's gone. Cobalt I use as finisher after drying just to give it pop at the end- usually lasts for a week or next wash. Nice to see the old country, been out here in Oz for 15 years ( ex Norfolk) glad we've got autosmart here too. All the best from us all in Melbourne

Perth is a very nice part of the planet .I'm a weekend worrier myself like you ,been detailing the last 40 odd years but still open to new ideas lol .one hack I'd like to pass on is using glass cleaner on wheels. Instead of buying all these fancy wheel sealers and stuff, just spray on a cleaned wheel - wipe over with a cloth, then buff with another. Works on any wheel, clear coated,black finish or diamond cut . Also it the best chrome and alloy cleaner 👌 thanks for the reply 👍

Ideal camera "person" , to be PC about it , would be that female postie you mentioned on the podcast before ? The Autosmart product , I've used Red7 in the past and it's ruddy great stuff . With you saying it brightens the wheel maybe it's been tweaked or maybe I've just forgotten it did this . I have also used a few of their polishes in the past , really enjoyed using them and the results from them . I will say as a weekend warrior 5 litres will make a lovely present for a loved one as you will struggle to use it all up. The one local to me attends classic car events in my area and does sell products by the bottle which makes more sense for those like me

Auto smart all the way. Remember these boys have been around in the motor trade a long time. Give g101 all purpose cleaner that stuff is that strong meat you can clean wheels with that and it will remove brake dust at ease. I must say don’t use G101 on leather interior, not even to freshen it up. It will strip the colour.

Great job Paul I use many auto smart products as I use them in my professional job as a valeter at a high end car manufacturer. I agree red 7 is the best wheel cleaner fallout remover I used it foams well to and easy to get in bulk 5 ltrs or 25 ltrs so cost affective compared to some. I been using this product quite few yrs now and nothing come close to it yet

Lovely video, black looks so good when it's cleaned well. Interesting comments about surfex, I'd not heard that before. Coincidentally, i emailed BH about a dilution rate for Surfex as a prewash through a pump and Mr Hamber responded with 4% as safe to LSP's. What percentage was your friend using it at. I love these cars such as they are , this one however doesn’t seem all that well cared for sadly Re Surfex , how can you talk down about a product when you haven’t used it , get on in 2 detailing and grab a litre of it to test it out for yourself , I think your opinion of it will change your mind. Re the prewash you were using , didn’t seem to do much really except smell nice , hardly worth using as a prewash then best keeping it as a air freshener for the dogs bed. Shampoo looked ok, at least it didn’t dry out on you QD, based on rapid detailer but it’s not rapid detailer with strawberries chucked in? 😂😂 What is it then?, what’s the difference? would have been good to know what was so special except again, an air freshener Red 7 looked brilliant , really cleaned up those neglected alloys well 💪

Hi my dear friend first things first Surfex Bilt Hamber I used many moons ago it was incredibly strong and used to stain my clear coat even at low dilution rates yes it’s strong stuff the reason I mentioned it is because it’s wrecked my friends clear coat on a BMW and he’s an experienced detailer the QD isn’t Rapid detailer it’s based on it but vastly improved I know this after sitting down with the chemists that make it sorry this wasn’t clear enough in the video yes Red7 is very good thanks for the comments and watching 👍🏻

Good vid, however, dont really like what felt like a slagging off of Bilt Hamber. Any product can cause damage, or clear coat was possibly already damaged. Just felt like a specific dig tbh, on a brand that is clearly one of the best on the market. Would rather more of an evidence based approach that you usually take on products, vs a 'good mate damaged his car using BH'.

It’s not and I repeat not slagging off I’ve had experience with the same product it’s a piece of advice to warn people how strong Surfex HD is I’ve had several messages via my Instagram from fellow detailers warning me what it can do to chrome trims and clear coat yes they make very good products try not to take my words to harshly 👍🏻🇬🇧

Just seen this comment and it was my car and I informed Paul of my testing I've been doing and not to risk this on customers cars and on specific substrates i have plenty more information on the issues I had in its degreasing capabilites and as paul clearly states, be careful as its super strong and citrus is a much better, safer dedicated cleaning aid for paint systems and other substrates.
