My dad bought a c90 he was told it’s the best bike ever engineered. Meanwhile I was flapping around in the garage rebuilding a Triumph trailblazer at 18 yrs old, it started second Kick and constantly blew big ends like they were going outta style. The thing was quick tho.

After years on the piaggio 2 strokes , i am giving the old models of the cub a shot. Because to me it is about getting there,no brand in the world can argue.

That lock nut on the clutch looks similar to the one on my old 750-4, i used a socket large enough to fit over the nut with a thick welding rod bent into a u shape placed inside the socket, fuck Honda's expensive special tool

had a few C90, did my part 2 on one back in '92, always wanted to know how the clutch worked.. that 3 ball dedent arrangement thats used by the gear lever seems to work like a pressure washer pump, just in reverse...

Screaming to get that mesh filter out - bloody tease you keep going near.. Best bikes ever for field use when too young to ride a road bike legally. The engines are bullet proof and require minimal maintenance. They run on neat fuel too and go forever on a gallon. I had a Cub 70 for running around on and getting to work. Bought it as an MOT failure from a dealer for £45 delivered. I slapped a back tyre on and it passed! Ran the bike for 3 years and sold it for £45. I think the biggest repair I had to do was a main bearing failure under the auto clutch. The bearing cost pennies and I actually did the repair with the engine still in the frame and whilst in my kitchen. I didn't need to split the engine and it took 2 hours all in. Really really miss my old Cub (it's ded now) and would have one again - but prices are stupid. Especially considering how many were actually made.

non related - but a couple of us got into a coolant discussion this evening about water - distilled vs hard water vs soft water -- yeah its a weird argument but however it made me think you might like it as such (hardwater/limescale buildup in coolant systems)

I'd already doing this experiment - the only issue is that its a cold experiment

That oil pump position is quite similar to that of an SL-125, which I raced the shit out of ~1972. Want to guess what happens when you wheelie that sumbitch for a mile at a time, repeatedly?

What a let down, after listening to this foul mouthed git for an hour I find out he didn't actually finish the rebuild! Now I have my engine in pieces!! How am I ever going to get it back together?

If I'm not mistaken the oil feeds through a channel around one of the bolts in the bore up to the head and then back down another bolt channel again into the sump (at least some models do from memory) :)
