Hey Matt. I have a few small points to make on this video. 1) Did you use the fork seal to drive in the bushing that goes under it? I have always driven in the slider bushing separately. 2) Probably worth mentioning that when you put the new seal over the end of the fork upper, it is possible to damage the seal. Some manuals suggest putting cling film over the end if the fork before putting the seal on to prevent this possibility. 3) I always put grease, not oil on the inside of the fork seal before installing it. Many manuals say this and some seals even come with a little pack of white grease for exactly this purpose. 4) Adding fork oil by volume is a pet peeve of mine. I've never met a set of forks that take exactly the amount of oil the manufacturer claims (and have the right air gap). Having the right air gap is more important than exactly how much oil you put in. And if you have emulators in the fork, the required volume will change. Lastly, with cartridge forks, if you forget to pump out the cartridges and then add oil by volume, the forks will be way over full (I know about this one because I had a so called 'professional' workshop do this to my bike). However, as you were just doing a quick rebuild on crappy old forks, I understand why you did the oil by volume. The air gap will be near enough and oil by volume is much quicker and easier. These are only small issues really and generally this is a good instructional video.

Do you have a video of how the forks work? All those bits and pieces make them seem very complicated to a numpty.

Not yet, it is quite complicated so I'm building a teaching aid out of clear tubing so you can see inside - matt

You're very kind. My 2004 SV650 bounces around all over the place. I'd love to change the fork oil (if it has any left) , but I'm more intimidated by the suspension than the engine :)

"i was thinking of my 125 engine for a 250." do you mean swap your 125 engine for a 250? You have to be careful of wheel loading and frame weight capabilities

Probably some EU regulation prohibits the supply of any fluids in useful quantities... because that would make sense.
