Hey Matt, looking good indeed! Tried cleaning mine with just a pressure washer and didn't anything near as good a finish as you have there. Even a basic media blaster looks great!

+Rigal yeah its kinda coming along, but im not happy with blasting the enigne complete. Change of plans, going to be stripping the engine down, and blasting the parts seprately. Will be videoing it all of course.

You could always go the other route of a bit of elbow grease, some cleaning brushes, fairy liquid and do it that way. What are your thoughts on sand blasting with a compressor attachment instead? I've seen some compressors you can buy for DIY use that come with a sand blasting attachment. They don't look like they can hold a lot of media, but could be easially modified to hold more media.

Hello mate, do you mean the bottle type? where the sand and air are compressed together? If so you need a compressor that can produce at least 14cfm otherwise don't bother, seriously I've been down this garden path.

Not sure if it;s the bottle type, but I'm on about the compressor attachments that use a pickup hose that you put in a bucket to pick up dry media. I'm more for the dry stuff anyway and from what I can see, the pickup hose setup can even use sharp sand or beach sand if you're lose enough to one. Though thinking about it, you'll need some hefty pressure to make it work well enough and not sure if a standard DIY compressor could pack enough pressure for that.

If the engine is not dismantled, so the motorbike is just as it is. Can I also wet blast it to get some grease of the engine? There is some oil sweat.

Glassbead is different with crushed glass media, for blasting engine/aluminum, glassbead is the best result.
