Great video. If you give imminoglubin you have to keep the patient in observation for at least 45 minutes and make sure that he doesn't get allergic because imminoglubin(for rabies ) does not produced in human body. Symptoms are: patient cannot breathe and his neck becomes red.

Thanks for the well-explained video. Very helpful indeed. I have a question though. If you're bitten by an animal you know for sure that's gone through rabies vaccination, and the if the wound bite is a 2cm sized laceration with edema and redness, does the algorithm you explained still apply? (i.e. "2 doses of rabies vaccine if you have been vaccinated before" AND. "4 doses of rabies vaccine + Rabies immunoglobulin if you haven't been vaccinated before")

Do you clean with Soap and water or Iodine? I just read that using Iodine on an open wound can increase the risk of Iodine side effects. What's your insight there?

Soap and running water for a minimum of 15 minutes.

povidone iodine is antiseptic. its recommended to wash the wound thoroughly under running tap water for 10 minutes and then u can apply any antiseptic but you should not close the wound as it may cause anaerobic organism growth in wound.

How about animals wich was previouly vacinated? Like domestic dogs and cats?

Per CDC, (1) if dog or cat healthy and available for 10-day observation, persons should NOT begin vaccination unless animal develops clinical signs of rabies. (2) If dog or cat rabid or suspected rabid, immediately vaccinate. (3) If unknown (dog or cat escaped), consult public health officials.

No, if person hasn't been bitten, there's no need to give him/her immunoglobulin, which would give person antibodies to fight rabies. Per CDC, for preexposure prophylaxis, 3 injections of HDCV or PCEC vaccine (same vaccine as for postexposure prophylaxis) should be administered IM on days 0, 7, and 21 or 28.
