It doesn’t record the touchscreen but you could certainly send an LFO or per step modulate it.

Great video! Are you able to automate or record all these movements, or is it just for live performances?

If anyones interested I wrote out all of the euclidian patterns with starting note on each of the 16 steps where appropriate. The files linked and are free to downlaod in the discord.

I have an berhringer ms 1. Does this save the samples in the machine when turned off, or do the disappear
@Digiphex Жыл бұрын
It saves everything, synth patches, sounds, sequences, samples, whole songs.

Which workflow do you like better the M8 or Octatrack?
@Digiphex Жыл бұрын
I use them for different things. Octatrack is a live performance sample mangler and FX. M8 I use for composing things and it has synths in it with very little live control other than the touch screen. A good scenario would be to run the M8 into the Octatrack and also run in a keyboard synth of some type. Both devices are the absolute premier in their class.

is it possible to have less that 16 steps on a phrase?
@Digiphex7 ай бұрын
Yes. With the HOP command a phrase can have any number of steps.

You have got to do a tutorial on how you do your sound design for these famous patches.... I tried for weeks to get a sound like is in so many Aphex Twin songs... then found a patch you made for "Mt St. Michael" for Tal U-NO-LX... not only is that one super close to what I've been trying to figure out... but I cannot believe how simple the patch is... I just don't get how you hear this stuff and are able to replicate it.

Well, the "secret" to that one is the SC service center function of the UNO to do a microtuning of the oscillators and that is what really makes it. You just hit the SC button and take a look at the pitch to the left and right of center and you will hear on several of his tunes he is using this, probably taking a screwdriver to the oscillator setting screws in his JUNO 60.

@@Digiphex HOLY S***...THAT'S WHAT IT IS??????? I've been going through every one of my synths... through every preset trying to find something CLOSE to that very simple sound and have not even come close...
