It's so great that people are becoming more aware of disabilities nowadays and I loved watching this video! I'm autistic and I believe that all disabilities should be accommodated. Thank you so much for spreading this kind of awareness! ❤❤❤

SAAAAAAME. Still working on a diagnosis...at 20, been officially looking for over 3 years, ever since my school screwed me over. Basically got no credit due to attendance (despite being sick, like 102-degree to 105-degree F fever, puking, pain, sweats, etc. sick. SICK SICK, constantly--like 1-2 times a month.) even tho I had good grades. (Which was hard since they wouldn't follow my accommodations, and I basically had to get my entire family for backup--and even then still had to make up a class that I got an F in 'cause they wouldn't let me change which class period I took it at, even tho it was 100% ok with the teacher.) So I had to homeschool the last semester, of my senior year....and it was 2020. They freaking didn't let me pass or have ANY credit due to attendance, even tho I would have had to break their rules of being fever free for 24 hours before coming, to be there, had Dr's notes, and then COVID HIT. Literally a month after I left to go homeschool. So...I hope they learned to not take attendance so seriously, at the very least not for ill students.

5:17 this video is insane! I got diagnosed with dyslexia when I was around 5 years old and I didn’t know any of this. This just goes to show that you can learn new things every day. I also wanna say you should try to not correct anyone’s spelling if they mess up. It’s super embarrassing and I’ve had multiple people correct me on KZbin posts etc. I know it’s not everyone’s intention to be offensive but it does come off that way. Thank you!

I went out today for the first time in public with my cane--since my legs and hips were REALLY not having it and I wanted to go out. (No idea what I have yet, still working with my doctors to get diagnosed) My cane is this cool one I was able to find made by an artist, and it has both a telescope and a compass. (Figured that might help if I can and do go on a hike). I unscrewed the compass while sitting down and some dude walking by went, "Is that a flask??" to which I said, "No, it's a compass." Then he went, "That would be a good idea for a flask." and went on his merry way, lol. So, overall for a first time out in public with it, 10/10. Edit: You can find the cane and others on Etsy, the one I got was about 40 bucks then shipping, so not too bad, and it has been working really well! It's made of brass and wood.

I had an older sister who was disabled. I didn’t know what she had but she couldn’t speak, she would speak in groaning and flapping hands, she needed to get picked up to get to different places bc she couldn’t move on her own, she had bad seizures, needed to be fed through a tube in her stomach, etc. She passed away in 2018 of a bad seizure and it was my first experience with death so it was traumatic. Watching these videos helps me be way more informed than I was when she was alive. And they’re a huge comfort because I see people exactly like her. RIP Rose Mary (Rosie), I miss you.

As a person with ADHD I end up feeling like… i’m not disabled enough or something. We don’t get bashed as much as Autistic people, or avoided for our appearance like amputees or people with deformities… but we still need help. We still end up feeling just as ostracized. But no one will ever take us seriously. They just think we get distracted by shiny objects and chase squirrels. It’s even worse cause in my case, those stigma’s are true. I do like chasing squirrels, it’s fun. And I like to look at shiny things, they can keep me entertained for hours on end. But I also forget to eat. I can’t keep up with my homework. It takes me hours to complete simple tasks. I’m often in pain, physically and mentally. I wouldn’t trade it for the world, but, I just wish people knew we’re more than scatterbrained.

I would like to thank you for making all of these compilations! They have helped me better understand disabilities and even myself, as I am autistic. It was literally just today that I found out that autism, no matter where you are on the spectrum, is defined as a disability. I didn't grow up in a home that taught me this stuff and they just labeled me as "quirky" or "weird" instead of telling me that I'm autistic and I only recently realized that I am and a lot of what I do and suffer from is related to autism. These videos have helped me not just to learn about autism but to also learn about the other disabilities that exist in my everyday life. Thank you once again!

Tw! This has venting in it! I have dyscalculia and this affects me daily. It’s a type of dyslexia, math dyslexia it’s also known as. Have a very hard time to grasp math terms. It’s embarrassing to have this for me, it’s made me feel useless in my math class to be honest. Sure, I have a math tutor who’s amazing at her job, a special needs class(aka Learning lab) and accommodations for this disability. Alas, it’ll not just go away, this is a life long condition that I have to deal with for the rest of my lifetime. Yes, it can get better over time, it’ll always be here though. Whoo! That was a lot, I just needed to get that off my chest. I have a plethora of other things, but my dyslexia is the thing people mostly don’t see and just think I’m “not working” and or “not paying attention “. (Btw, the other things are gender/spesices dysphoria and anxiety)

Being told all my favorite things to do were dangerous with a bone related illness i was diagnosed with in my teens sent my ADHD fueled depression in to aviolent but not literally violent spiral, barely held up alongside crumbling social life and a veeeery brokenhome environment. In only in my mid to late thirties undergarment how much i let suffer due to all that sadness and chaos and my ignorance. I'm not religious but I'm definitely a praying man while i start to accept myself and get gradually healthier all over again it seems... it's uplifting to come on KZbin and see so many other ambulatory disabled and neuro-spicy people who understand the struggle in this burnt out neuro-plain bakery that we have to call our society... thank you so so much for being such an awesome community.

I just started to realize that some of my "nearly uncontrollable stims" may be tourettes, so i came here to be peer reviewed. Can someone with tourettes tell me if this constitues a tic? I have motor tics that i thought were just my autistic self getting sensory overwhelm, but what im asking about is these: i make these noises when i get very happy or uncomfortable or any very strong emotion and i have extreme difficulty regulating them. I looked it up and i found that apparently people are more likely to have comorbid autism, epilepsy, and tourettes (having one means youre more likely to have several of them) im just curious if these noises seem like vocal tics or if theyre just really strong stims.

I was completely unaware that “Asperger” was an offensive term. I have had professionals use that term around me all the time. Why is this term offensive? I really wanna know.

It's because the term was invented by a N@zi so he could categorize which autistic people he would "get rid of" and which he thought could be useful for society

I'm sorry about that, tiktok doesn't let people download videos with captions if those captions were created through the tiktok caption feature and youtube captions aren't on as default. I am now turning on youtube captions for all my videos.
