The world is crazy as heck. Like… the amount of social rules that make no sense. Oh, and not to forget people saying that what we feel is just us overreacting, or that we are supposedly on drugs. Whenever I have a meltdown, my mom just says I’m overreacting and asks me if I’m on drugs. Like, WHY WOULD I BE DOING DRUGS AT TWELVE YEARS OLD?? Those dang Facebook theories are getting to her head.

7:03 about the knees popping out of socket is so relatable for me, like why my kneecaps do the cha-cha slide. And no, I probably don’t have that syndrome, since it’s only with my right knee. It’s cool seeing someone with the same kind of problem that I have, that I thought no one else understood.

Autism is a disability, so if you're autistic you are disabled.
@afrogonaleaf
@afrogonaleaf Жыл бұрын
I've played some D&D and I'm disabled so maybe I can help a bit. The first tip I can give you is to find a specific disability or disabilities to give your character. For instance if the heath issue you chose is migrane or something else with pain, it would probably affect their concentration and perception skills. Other Disablities give the people with them fatigue which could affect their strength. A lot of health issues have triggers so you could choose a set of triggers for your character such as, sudden burst of light, loud sounds, prolonged exercise, certain foods or lack of food. If your character gets triggered by something they could roll with disadvantage for the affected stats for however long the typical episode is for whatever disability you choose (for example most peoples migranes last from a few hours to days depending on how severe the trigger was) However the best advice I could give you is research the disability you choose well, not only will it give your character more depth you will have learned a lot of information that could help someone else someday. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. I hope this helps!

The stamina bar thing hit home for me. I have to choose my activity for the day because if I do more than that, I'm out of commission and in excruciating pain for 1 or several days. My max recovery time has been several months. 😢 And, no, there is not a single doctor who will acknowledge that there is a problem even though I currently use a cane, wear a brace and have actual medical evidence (mri and xrays) that show them the problems. 🙄

Disabilities are also physical…. Mine two main ones are a neuromuscular disability and I’m hard of hearing. You don’t have to put them on job applications, there are plenty of other situations you could tell a person you have it.

I have a quick question for the community and this seems like a good place to ask it; if anyone could reply that would be great! There’s a disabled/chronically ill affinity group at my new school and I have ADHD. I know that that technically makes me disabled, but I’m not sure if it’s really enough to attend the group. I do identify as disabled, and love this community, but I just don’t want to encroach on a safe space that isn’t mine. Would it be weird if I went?

She told a random person on the internet that she probably doesn't know that her disability isn't their business. Thats not wrong *but* people definitely do need to be aware of invisible disabilities. But she doesn't need to tell everyone her disability for people to not act like she's faking. /nm /lh

i dont want to say i am disabled, because its not like a diagnosed thing, but its been like this for a while, but its been particularly bad today. everytime i get up off my bed or couch, my legs have felt really weak and its hard to stay steady, like i need to hold on to something to be properly steady. i think im gonna tell my parents about it, since its getting pretty bad. does anyone have an idea on what this is??😭😭/nf /genq (edit/update: i told my mum about it but she said it was probably just “growing pains” ☹️ she said if it does get worse she’ll take me to a doctor though)
