@vincentknws4 жыл бұрын
@@x80WildCat08x I didn't want to get into a political argument but here goes. First america gets paid to go help other countries and get involved. And this is by those countries goverment. In fact Trump was thanked on live TV because he bombed the actual bad guys and not innocent kids like Obama did. Second Trump is not a politician but a businessman which is why so many people voted for him in the first place. And yes he's been called a "racist/nazi" for putting america first. He has also helped lower taxes for everyone which is why you'll see average americans defending trump and millionaires defending Biden. He has also helped lower Insulin costs which the obama administration raised to about 500. Where it has been lowered to an affordable cost. The north Dakota pipeline was already paid for by the Obama administration but most people are blaming trump for it being put in which is why Obama didn't scrap it and left it to Trump to put in. The two people who replied, I agree that if we just sit there and pray, we may as well not pray, as prayer, in itself, does nothing, in that sense. But, what Pam Newsome was saying was that she hopes someone becomes the answer to her prayer for the woman in the video. Like in the book of James. It does not help to have a second cloak to give, and we merely say "go in peace and be warm." We should give the second cloak to the person. We should be the answer to the prayer. That's what Pam was saying.

Maybe that specialist will take her on pro-bono. She’s got kids that need her to be as healthy as possible. Unless you think only upper middle class thru the rich or pretty people are the only ones allowed to get help for rare conditions. @cherryb8535 жыл бұрын
@BSquared Well... A large part of the problem is that the US government seems to be concerned with helping people from other countries before they help the people who were actually born here. Second... Majority of welfare recipients are not the disabled like so many people believe Its women with children. They need to stop extending all of this welfare help to these women just because they have multiple children. I know things happen and people fall on hard times. But in a lot of these situations these women knew they were not financially stable and didn't have the money to support a child in the first place. It's a damn shame when a person missing an arm or a leg or has some serious mental disability and can not work because of it is denied help because they are extending the help to others. 🤷
@cherryb8535 жыл бұрын
@Bob Bobbertson I don't think they should cut welfare. I think it should only be given to the physically and mentally disabled who can't work. They definitely need to quit extending it to women just because they have children. Welfare should only be for the disabled. Period.
@marystrohkorb37255 жыл бұрын
Cherry B - I agree. The govt. needs to change the definitions of handicap and disabled. Handicapped is what you are born with. Disabled is what you become. Turn welfare into a govt. temp agency. People would get financial assistance while getting retrained for one of the many job vacancies in the US with supplemental income until you “Graduate” up to full time employment.

I was a landlord for years. I used to have these kind of people with these kind of problems in my apartments. But I had a heart. I would still give them apartments and told them they can pay when they can. I would help them. But the government basically shut me down. With unnecessary fines. One of the fines was that the tenants were not recycling their garbage. So the city hired an inspector on the people's tax dollars. The inspector would drive around at night, and open trash barrels that where left out on the side walk for city trash removal. The city would provide the trash containers with covers that were attachable. So the city inspector would drive at night time, going from one property to another, and open up the trash covers and look to see if a plastic coca cola can was mixed into the trash. If it was, the inspector would take a picture of the container, the plastic coca cola bottle. Than the landlord would get a summons to go to court and have to pay a 600 hundred dollar fine. I went to court many times fighting this. Saying this is unconstitutional, since the city garbage cans are on city property, and who knows who threw that container into the garbage. On the city sidewalk, there property. The City did not want to here it. I would have to pay. Than the city put me on there there hit list. Driving around to each property. Any property that had a torn screen was a 1000 thousand dollar fine. I finally gave up. I sold the properties for what the mortgages were. I worked for free for almost 20 years, thinking maybe one day, I could make a little money to take care of my family. I had a heart for tenants. I saw there circumstances, and I understand. My tenants where very kind to me, and I was kind to them. My apartments where all updated too. Very nice. I am a license contractor. My whole point is, this is a government problem. Democrats, they say they want to help, but that is all lies. They do not care. And really have no idea. They are heartless.
@SuperAfroGal4 жыл бұрын
That is horrible. I hope you still find ways to keep light in your heart and motivation to keep doing good. What a terribly disheartening experience, I wish your former tenants and yourself well.

Thank you for being so kind to them. It’s like the government will find anyway not to help people and prevent people from helping others. That coke bottle thing is so stupid, I can’t even. I’m so sorry that happened to you, but at least you were able to show kindness to others during that time. Democrats and republicans are the same, just with different morals. No one, right or left is going to care. It’s always about the money.

In fact it’s legal for hospitals to charge self paying uninsured individuals the highest rate. So yep the most vulnerable continue to suffer. Our healthcare is a joke. In order to see a doctor for something as simple as strep throat you will need at least $100 to see the doctor. That’s if your already a patient of that doctor, if not an office visit will be closer to $140. Then pathology will bill you for testing to see if it’s strep. Usually around $60. Then you still need a prescription. A z-pack will cost about $80. So for strep throat expect to spend about $300. Same for bronchitis, flu, etc. now say you have a four person family. $1,200 for a seasonal illness. If you need surgery without insurance and have bad credit, too bad for you. The hospital will charge you the highest rate and will not do the surgery until you’ve paid for it. And to top it off they don’t even have to tell you the full amount the procedure will cost if you have insurance. Good luck trying to budget. Now let’s say you don’t have $300 to go get antibiotics . That leaves the emergency room. Just by going to the ER your bill starts at around $1200. Unless your vital signs are weakening you will receive only the basic services so no x rays, imaging, etc. a doctor with a heart will occasionally order tests knowing they will get in trouble with the hospital administration. If you don’t pay your bill or make payment arrangements in 90 days they will turn it into collections. That’s when the lawyers get involved. You are sued and then get to pay the hospital charges, late fees, interest, attorneys fees, you even pay the police officer who serves you the paperwork. Then judgement happens and they take 25% of your gross income from your paycheck until it’s paid off. So a $1,200 medical bill becomes about $2,500 to $3,000 medical debt within about a year. If you do make payment arrangements they will expect you to have the total bill paid within 18 months. If you can’t afford those payments then the bills are turned into collections. Although I qualify for Obamacare due to my income, they denied me because my husbands insurance offered me coverage. Of course that coverage would cost 25% to 30% of our joint yearly income. That’s if I didn’t even see the doctor. If I did see the doctor I would need to spend $5000 before insurance kicked in. Yep you read that right. Our system is completely broken!!
@xandralinest894 жыл бұрын
@@nono361 I didn't pay a medical bill for about three years before they basically gave up on me and left me alone lol. Didn't even effect my credit. After having my daughter, uncomplicated delivery, no epidural, no nicu, no additional nights stayed, not even a private room someone how Bill came to over 30k, that's after I paid 6k out of pocket already. Insurance too care of most of it but I still owed 3k or something. I feel no shame about not paying my bill, they got a whole lot of my money and I didn't feel like I owed them anything else. The costs of anything medical are astronomical compared to what they should be in reality. You can go to another country, have a surgery and then vacation for a year for the same cost to get it done in the US, it's bullshit. I have great insurance now but my employer pays about 2k a month for it, I'm fortunate to have a good employer but not everyone else is. The frustrating thing is that you can't even know before hand what the cost of things are before you agree to them. What kinda bullshit is that? Two people could go into the same hospital and have the same procedure on the same day and come out with wildly different bills, it's been proven over and over again. Our health care system is a fucking joke.
@nono3614 жыл бұрын
@@xandralinest89 I couldn’t agree more. I’m glad they let the remainder of your bill slide. I’ve been sued twice and had a judgement/lien for medical bills. The last judgement my debt was $2,500 but I’ll end up paying almost $4,000 by the time the lien is lifted. Seems fair when I couldn’t even afford insurance. Mr. Vandersloot, the owner of melaleuca, has been a tremendous help in Idaho. He’s actually managed to get some laws changed, but they don’t go into effect until January. It’s a travesty the way our medical system operates. Thanks to mr. Vandersloot they will now have to tell you what the cost of the procedure is, bill you in a timely manner, have set limits on what the collection lawyers can charge, and increase transparency in billing. Sad that it takes the richest man in Idaho to fight for those who can’t. But bless that wonderful man and the millions he’s put towards helping the less fortunate.

Poverty got out of control in Austin the last few months; in a city that is the one of the 1st growing cities in the US, you will find homeless people sleeping in tents under all the bridges, and sometimes on MoPac Express way you will find them in sleeping bags next to the road with heavy traffic. I have seen her, in my area (by the heart hospital), very late at night. I've always worried about her. Sad to hear all of this. You know, though; social security is changing, and is running higher (payments), which is a dual-sided sword. People are not able to qualify for other benefits, when on social security disability, as crazy as that sounds. Anything more than a thousand dollars, for one person (in Austin, anyway), will prevent help with housing, food, medicare, etc.. I don't know if you know this, but, that is the average rent in this town, anymore. It is like the federal government, and the state gmen, are trying to make sure it is as difficult as possible for so many. Really a sick situation.

I am living in St Louis in a shelter/home struggling to get Medicaid. I applied and got denied and appealed and lost. The system even acknowledged my health is worse than the doctors told me, yet still denied me. Luckily I am in a shelter/home now. I re-applied again for medicaid. I am in limbo waiting for the medical review team to make a decision. The MRT can take up to 2 months. I missed out on a program due to not having Medicaid. I have AFIB and no family that can help. All my past traumas have surfaced. I'm struggling to get the "diagnosis" of PTSD from everything I've experienced. I get the simple - major depression. The homeless are invisible here in St Louis.

Disgusting how they play games with people. I honestly believe that they deny people repeatedly hoping they will just give up and go away. The ones who persist might eventually get it, I suppose it finally shows them the person really needs it. Sad that drug addicts, like my ex sister in law and her husband- too lazy to get a job and perfectly capable of getting one- got benefits within 2 months!
