Update on aya: as part of UNHCR’s resettlement scheme, Aya and her family were to start a new life in France. They’d be leaving Lebanon in less than two weeks. Sihan, Aya’s mother, fretted about what they should take. They were allowed a suitcase each, and into those she packed blankets (for she had been told it was cold) and bags of dried thyme, cumin and Arabic coffee (she wanted to carry a taste of home). None of them had flown before. When they boarded the plane in Beirut the family was terrified. Apart from Aya, who, I’m told, did up her seat belt and said “Let’s go!” A few days later I visited them at their new home in Laval, an hour’s drive from Paris. Their flat is in a new block on the edge of a small town. It’s quiet, with gardens where the children can play. Random Acts helped provide Aya with a state-of-the-art wheelchair, and for the first time in her life she can fulfil her dream of attending school. Eating dinner with the family, I realised, that despite knowing them for over two years, it was the first time I’d seen Aya’s parents smile. It was as if a great weight had been lifted from them. As I was leaving, Sihan told me with tears in her eyes, about the first night they slept in their new flat. Aya often struggles to sleep, but on that night, as she put Aya to bed, Sihan was able to whisper to her: “It’s OK, this is your home now.”

Niamh Darlington Before the war, Syria was a fairly affluent society and its people well educated. The US and its allies destroyed the country. Do you think terrorist groups like IS who kill children are better than Assad? Watch the video of one such terror group (I think it was the White helmets) who executed a twelve year old boy who was suspected of being a spy. The spineless western media ignored the story. Always look at both sides of a story and do not let the lamestream media brainwash you. 🙄🙄🙄
@ertobert3459
@ertobert3459 3 жыл бұрын
@@fauxmanchu8094 Syria wasnt affluent. Corruption and ghosting was a common thing and this free healthcare claim is a total lie. No one is saying IS is better than Assad stop strawmaning please. White helmets arent even a terror group but a rescue op which has been slandered and vilified by Russian trolls/propaganda campaign because they in their rescue videos they showed Russia in a bad light since it was Russian airplanes dropping the bombs on innocent children.

What alarms me the most (other than watching the gut wrenching plight that these poor people are facing), is that most of these Unreported World videos only have 30k views, or 50k views, and not tens of millions of views. The only way the selfish of this world are ever going to be motivated to care about someone other than themselves, is through this kind of immersion brought about by warrior-level journalism.

As far as im aware there is a lott of money being collected for helping syrian refugees from several countries. What im worried about is if all of that money is actually going into helping them 100% or only 30% of it makes it to these innocent lives..i already know about how charity organisations work in the u.s and dont want that happening here as this is an emergency situation and a lot of sick people need healthcare immediately.

reshmi saha The charity organisations in Europe aren't any better. Only some of them are truly trustable. It's a shame that there are some people who'd leech on 70% of what should be for the refugees, while feeling like helpful and kindhearted.

Displacing ppl from their homes isn't the answer. Not all of them are loving families in need like this... most refugees that flooded other areas are men actually from Africa and Afghanistan etc and they are wreaking havoc on the cultures and safety of the places that welcomed them. There is only so many refugees a country can handle at one time and America has a problem with illegals already putting a strain on the system. Tons of ppl live in poverty already why bring more in to live in poverty. It is not heartless, why don't you sponsor some refugees to live in your home

manny fresh that is terrible logic, if the natives were any example to go by, why wouldn't we learn from their experience? We're supposed to learn from History. I don't know why ppl bring up natives and their suffering as if it's some Compelling reason we should self sabotage ourselves and make the same mistakes. Your taxes do not get spent on trump lol. As a matter of fact, if you did any research, u would know that trumps net worth has actually gone down while being president, he doesn't even accept a wage. Whereas obama and Clinton made MILLIONS while while in power. And it wasn't "white people", it was Europeans, europeans are just as diverse as different cultures from around Asia and the Middle East. Quit making everything about race

Cry Baby because America doesn’t learn anything from history we still treat people like garbage because of there beliefs and color of there skin. We didnt learn anything from taking land and killing all the Natives, we didnt learn anything from slavery because people of color are still getting unjustly killed. America also didn’t learn anything about World War 2 the holocaust and Hitler because of who we have as a president. We didn’t learn anything from the Vietnam war because we still stick our noses where it doesn’t belong. And right are we believing everything on the internet? Because Trump has an extensive laundry list of things of horrifying things he’s done. But I bet you won’t believe that.
