Thanks for your video, me & wife looking to get a 4x4 power chair ( not many are true 4x4 ) for rambling, trips, adventures, holidays, most chairs out there are useless in anything other than good surfaces and wife loves going of-roading, I don't need a power chair but its so much fun we have two so I use too 😁 I see most of your content is metal detecting but love to see more real life pro's and con's to X8 or any 4x4 chair use and ownership. thanks again you both😊👍

Hi there So pleased you found our channel useful, that was what we intended when we started it tbh. Sounds like you have a lot of fun in your powerchairs 😂. We are going to be putting on some different videos of our adventures so keep watching and I hope they will be of interest to you 🙂

Im in Missouri of the USA and i have enjoyed watching your video. Its nice to see another disabled person who is stuck in a wheelchair and has a hobby and doing metal detecting. Finding lost items, but have you ever thought about getting a pull behind ground detector for finding things underground like meteorites. They are easily picked up with metal detectors and worth alot of money. If you have a friend thats good working with their hands, they can build you a nice pull beind detector that will fold up for saving space.

Hi there, we will certainly give this some thought. Funnily enough, a meteorite dropped on someones driveway, not too far away from us, it was on the News. I think they sold it Thank you for commenting 🙂

Hi, I have come off the disabled rambling groups, I can't be bothered will all the negativity from a hard core group of self righteous naysayers. All the best Jon

I loved my X8 mate, I would be doing the mountain bike tracks though Enjoy 🖖
@disabledadventures41156 ай бұрын
Hi, we have been down some of the mountain bike trails before but didn't film it when we were first trying to find our way through the woods, but some are very narrow and when overgrown can be difficult. Why did you get rid of your X8 if you don't mind me asking?

@@disabledadventures4115 Tis done 12,5k and no longer worth repairing mate, saving up for the new one I guess. Wish they would update the batteries or make ‘‘em swop out , there not that bright this mob are they .

@@Jabawoki.1 If you are in UK, I may be interested in yours for spares depending on what condition it is in, and what may be useable. Yes the range is low and could do with being double, but with the size of the footprint with lead gel batteries that would be difficult although I think the latest ones have slightly larger batteries. Lithium batteries would be better for range, but can be very unstable when charging or when cells short and causes fires, I have seen a few powerchairs that have had fires, even a Terrainhopper with lithium batteries when a young disabled child was using it on the beach, and his father had to lift him out quickly while it burned, so that is also a consideration.

@@Jabawoki.1 That's an idea, I could send Wendy on ahead to clear the way 😀

Omg you are very brave. What amp batteries do you have. Or on that ground how far can you go on that chair

I have a quantum 4 front with extra large wheels tyres on .
@disabledadventures41157 ай бұрын
The batteries are 2 x 73 amp hour and when good it will do between 8 and 12 miles and with very muddy conditions I would say the lower number of about 8 miles. At the moment the batteries need changing and the range is terrible, but I have some and will get my wife to help me change them very soon.

Have you considered making a rear table or trailer for your lovely lady to ride behind you in messy places or so she can keep up with you? My wife would love one.
@RealCptHammonds6 ай бұрын
I'm thinking something that has a hinged to fold up would be very nice to get out of the way when not in use, perhaps with wheels to not hold all of the weight on the chair, negativity shifting the center of gravity...
@disabledadventures41156 ай бұрын
We have joked about it to be honest, because he really does zoom ahead and I spend most of my time jogging lol. We carry so much stuff on the back and with my weight too ,I think he it would wheelie, but it might add comedy value lol. Truthfully, I could do with it sometimes so maybe is worth thinking about. All the best from Jon and Wendy@@RealCptHammonds

@@disabledadventures4115 I made one for my Chinese folding power chair with a fold down platform and 4 wheels on it that clips up when not in use. But, because the X8 is so much bigger and has such a different frame, I'm trying to figure it out again from scratch. My wife loved the old one, but is patient and knows I don't like her being left behind unless I'm just pretending to be a jerk to laugh with her. She knows I love towing her as much as she lives it, so hopefully I'll find something similar or come up with something for her to join me. 😁😁😁

@@disabledadventures4115 So far, having only had my X8 for two days, I see there's some respectable bolts in the back that look like very good points to attach such a trailer. (That's what I would call it...) I have a damaged left hand and right foot, which is why I got the chair, but I'm staring at it really hard like the movie The Men That Stare At Goats! 🤣🤣🤣
