Wait in regards to "marry my husband" where did he money away her problems? I read the full thing and she was the one to execute her revenge, she did mention she had a good job herself, she even learned to invest in stocks, rejected a job position his father offered her because she didn't feel worth of it, she never involved the ml in her revenge really. But maybe I am misunderstanding or missing somthing😅 someone please explain

I read the full thing too and I also never got the impression that he moneyed away her problems. Like yeah, he helped her behind the scenes initially, but she was so intrinsically motivated and tried to solve a lot of her own problems. She wasn't relying on him to fix everything for her. Idk, weird take imo

THANK YOU, Jiwon has refused Jihyeok's help at almost every turn. That was until he made it clear it was out of kindness and he respected her wishes when she denied him. He always called out Minhwan for mistreating Jiwon and puts down Sumin for her irresponsible and manipulative behavior. Also, Jihyeok also got sent back in time after expressing regret for not intervening in Jiwon's life. He even took his own life because of his own guilt in his first life. He initially just wanted Jiwon to leave Minhwan and be happy, he only started to pursue Jiwon after she broke up with her fiance, this was also weeks after she spent more time with him.

@@kaliland9296 Thank you! I was beginning to think I was remember things wrong or forgot something. The villains weren't entirely 2 dimensional, Sumin (Best Friend) had an explanation as to why she hated her friend and for wanting to get with the MC's ex fiancé Spoiler alert: MC's mum cheated on her father with the Sumin's (best friends) dad, who then ran away together and left their family's behind. Sumin's mum broke down and became abusive afterwards, beating and starving her and blaming her the reason her father left them. Sumin met MC when they were kids and were friends, but when Sumin came to their house and saw (I think) an old family picture with the mum, (And Jiwon, MC, explaining how their mum left them) she put the pieces together this was the family of the women who destroyed her family and made her life miserable. Jiwon's father loved her, cared for her and didn't blame her for his wife leaving them, and Sumin was jealous of that, she wanted that life and couldn't understand why Jiwon got that life but not her (honestly felt bad for her here) I think was solidified Sumin's hate for Jiwon (when they were young) was when they were at Jiwon's place and her father had made them some food, Jiwon commented how she had wanted to eat something else that day (not in a bratty way it felt more like, Idk pouty? like in a joking way) and Sumin, who was being beat and starved by her mother saw this and thought Jiwon was a greedy, selfish brat for not appreciated what her father was doing for her. In the end, this made Sumin believe she deserved better than Jiwon, and that Jiwon didn't deserve anything good, not her friend, looks, career, boyfriends everything. Sumin wanted to make Jiwon as miserable as she was. The ex fiancé? I can't recall much of his backstory, don't think he had anything ground breaking really. He just flew too close to the sun and burned himself. He loved how Sumin was more "feminine" and "soft" compared to Jiwon (which is stupid really), and thought he scored big time by marrying a stable women like Jiwon while having a side piece to enjoy. Like in the Webtoon, during the beginning of their affair, Sumin was shocked he was still going to continue on with their engagement (think they were engaged at this point in time), and Ex fiancé comments how this was all for fun nothing serious But the most influential part of his downfall (apart from him cheating) was his mother. The definition of 'Boy Mum' and someone with traditional views that a women should serve her husband hand an foot. When Jiwon (MC) was initially married to Ex fiancé, Mother-in-law was ruthless, expecting Jiwon to both work to make her own money (saying the wife would only be wasting her sons hard earned money) and should both clean and cook fresh homemade meals for her son everyday, while juggling a full time job (honestly absurd). Some more instances of Mother-in-law from hell are: - Basically planned the whole wedding herself, let neither Jiwon or Sumin have nay input what-so-ever and would become mean and cruel when either tried to argue with her. Jiwon buckled as she wanted her to approve of her and Sumin wanted a loving mother so much initially went along with it until MIL became nasty and she realised MIL is another version of her abusive mum. - (Original timeline) Can't remember full details but - Jiwon was doing something late and didn't have time to eat or more a meal, in come MIL and her Husband who comment on how lazy she is for not making anything (She legit was busy doing something though) and proceed to order food ONLYY FOR THEMSELVES, EAT IN FRONT OF HER, and when she asks what about her they say there are some scraps left over for her to eat. Literally horrible. In sort Ex Fiancé's awful personality was bound to rear its ugly head soon enough when witnessing the toxic behaviour and views his mother and father (who isn't better) claimed so loudly. So while Ex fiancé doesn't have a deep tragic background like Sumin, I do think he was heavily influences by his family's views and opinions and obviously his horrible personality. In conclusion I don't think the villains are 2 Dimension, yes there wasn't much focus on their backgrounds but frankly I still think they are fine antagonists, and its naturally they make 'silly mistakes' as Sumin had a structure for how she takes advantage of Jiwon since probably childhood. Sumin knows Jiwon and is used to her acting reserved and quite, so when Jiwon comes back in time and talked back to Sumin through her for a loop. I mean when Jiwon came back in time 10 years did pass, she had probably matured and went through so much in life that she was more prepared for Sumin's childish behaviour (i.e backhanded compliments, snide comments and Sumin's blatant stupidity) Sorry for making this long I just don't have a lot of people to talk to about such series so have a lot to say, also I do agree with the comments that say the Male Love Interest was kind of boring, but I did like how their getting together wasn't drawn out and filled with stupid miscommunication. But I will disagree how he did a lot of things for a "crush". He loved her for 10 years, probably more from when he met her in College? University? saw he get with someone, saw how he missed his chance with her and learned of her horrible death and how the people she cared the most about (BF and Husband) betray her so harshly that she died hurt and alone, he literally ran into the room right after he saw her bleed out to deep. So when he came back in time, he was desperate, he wanted to avoid that fate in whatever way. So now writing this out, I know can understand why his pushiness and sudden appearance came off as weird on our end, was trying so hard to change her fate he tried to do whatever possible to help her. Not excusing everything he did as yeah some of his actions did warrant a side eye from Jiwon and us as readers. Rant over

@@Daniela-lo9td you're so right though! Sumin was definitely not 2-dimensional. She might come across that way in the beginning, but once you find out her back story, it makes perfect sense. I can see that argument making more sense for the ex-fiancee, but honestly, I think as a person, he's kinda 2-dimensional. Like, if he were a real life person, he'd be kinda boring lol

14:13 Yeah I actually really like Jungle Juice and recommended it to my friends, but they got ahead of me while I stopped at chapter 41. Without spoiling too much, I was noticing while reading that the plot was starting to revolve a lot around the main guy and his enemies instead of the world and characters he interacts with. He has a cockroach woman companion with a great design, but the story was starting to have this issue of showing off what the women could do but having the men finish every conflict. The cockroach lady finally got her moment to shine, but then she fainted and the main guy came in to save the day as the mystery unraveled further. I stopped after that. What was a cool X-Men like premise in the beginning turned into a shounen comic with lackluster character conflict and a great world. I really want to like it, but I have no motivation to continue reading it if its characters aren't treated with equal respect in a story that doesn't even have anything to do with gender.

I forgot where I stopped reading, but one supporting female character who is scorpion is said to be super badass and strong and everything, yet she gets kidnapped and treated as a damsel the most it’s so dissatisfying…

I enjoyed the story for a while but I haven't read past chapter 94 cuz the issue with the female characters only gets worse. Without spoiling anything a new female character gets introduced at the start of the new arc and she's strong and serves as the mcs mentor/friend for a while only for her to become a (heavily sexualised) damsel in distress in an attack just to make the mc looking stronger for beating the attackers. It was chapter 93 where that happened and a lot of readers were unhappy with it and stopped there too.

i am caught up and at least what i have seen is equal respect towards genders, the female characters all have characters and are not merely tropes the onlything that isnt "equal chance" is that the cockroach girl has to be saved a few times in a fight by the mc but most of the time she is the one saving him (he intended to kill himself in the start she saved him, in the latest chapters she saved him, around the end of s1-start of s2 i think it was none really supported him aside from her and the list goes on i dont remember everything otherwise i would write more) as for "men finish every conflict" you mean the mc thats sadly a trope that is a part of every eastern story i dont think its anything that makes jungle juice misogynistic most of the female characters are treated very well in the story as characters

I feel like on webtoon readers mostly like simple stories, I try my best to keep things moving and to show not tell. Great Video!

Homesick was pretty much my first ever webtoon i ever took seriously into reading it was awesome at first , i was quite obsessed with it however i feel like as it got more chapters the story line and plot just got confusing like it was just random shit happening completely ignoring how the 2 main characters met , really disappointed me tbh. I also agree with the Navin and Gladiolus part like we never get another scene where Gladious atleast remebers or gets any flashback in memory of Navin as if he never existed same with Gressil being revived randomly like ik it makes sense as he did drank Raynes blood , i also like the concept of him not remembering anything and just seeing Rayne as his hero or something however he was a pretty horrible person before considering all his actions. What i predict is that he'll probably get his memory back and try killing Rayne but will obviously die again pretty much making the whole revived completely part useless.

12:59 didnt the beginning of Noblesse literally lore that someone literally targeting Raizel by taking (cough stealing cough) this coffin because of "oh this race of Noblesse is (insert alot of bad guy yapping)" Meaning there is actually things going on, that'd be weird if they decide to ignore that plot for the sake of Slice of Life Franky want his lord to live in peace in the school that he made but ofc power hungry maniac dangers their life, in the end everything is good because it went back to normal and Raizel able to live in peace in the end with his HS friends

This is why i LOVE the adaptation of marry my husband kdrama itshowed us more of jiwons personal revenge and all the possible outcomes that lead with the interchanging fate thing ❤ it was also not predictable like i felt like i was watching an entirely different show and thevillains were also not shown entirely stupid and fe,t very real lol

Definitely! I only watched the adaptation, but Soo-mins feelings towards Ji-won were pretty nuanced in the adaptation! Maybe that's just me but Soo-min seemed so genuine. Her actress is phenomenal!

I don't get how people couldn't have seen the 180 coming from noblesse. I mean doesn't one of the tags tell you that it is an action series or something, Plus with the premise it has with it being about vampires I feel like you should expect some action. I'm not sure about jungle juice though because I haven't read it so I'll give it a read myself to see if it has the problem as people say it does

my biggest gripe w/ Marry my Husband is the deletion of their glasses 😭. it's such a minor nitpick but it irritated me so much that they never wore them ever again. ML looked way better w/ them on tbh. and i got tired of Jungle Juice because it was TOO much action imo. i get thats the genre, but it felt like there was barely any breathing room for character moments

I enjoyed Marry My Husband from start to finish.. But those glasses problem.. Jiwon has ALWAYS been pretty but the story treats her as not whenever she wears glasses it's ridiculous

@@Èèĕě-m1f They wear eye contants 24/7? That's gotta be irritating. the characters don't ever wear their glasses when relaxing at home? Whats the even point of giving the characters glasses in the first place? I'm really tired of the "sexy without glasses" trope. So honestly, yeah, i do judge a comic a bit on if they do that. It's a disabliltiy that they sort of just immediately strip away because it's "more attarctive". They could've easily given them more fashionable glasses.

People who wear glasses have been constantly put down for decades as ugly. It's the same thing as when the mc is fat, and is only treated as attractive when they lose weight. When you constantly see people who are plain but are suddenly seen as super hot without their glasses, it's frustrating. When I was a kid depictions like that in movies made me refuse to wear glasses even though I needed them. It's not just about the glasses, it's about how people are treated and seen due to wearing glasses. It wouldn't be an issue if people weren't constantly seeing people who wear glasses as ugly@@Èèĕě-m1f

I always want to kill off characters at the worst possible moment. Like, she's about to reach her goal, about to get the medicine to her sick mother and then she dies, crushing the medicine vial with her body, so not even her friends can fulfill her biggest desire. And yes, that's a death I'm currently writing and I'm crying while detailing everyone's reactions to this, as they have to keep running, unable to give their friend a proper burial due to the guards hunting them. This is near the end of the story, when the main characters are about to get to a safe house, where the sick mom's located, who turns out to have died a day after the group left, making the entire death unnecessary in the first place. Of course the main character also blames himself, as he pressured her to go with the group, since she promised she'd go, but wanted to back out last minute. Anyways, I hope this death is as sad as possible in this dark fantasy comic, because I want people to ugly cry at this.

God of Highschool! GGreat concept, hell of a story, but like alot of webtoons it's one of those stories that should've ended early instead of kept going.

Spoilers I guess for Marry My Husband... I'm pretty sure the love interest didn't actually money away her problems even though he tried to a few times, but even if he had, there actually was an inciting incident: he found out that she died and was reincarnated as well with that knowledge. This is probably why he would have been trying so hard to help her. He didn't last time, and she ended up dying. Even if he wasn't at fault, many people probably would have blamed themselves. So there kind of was a reason why he would try to do that (unless I remember incorrectly).

I agree. I think its funny that they said he made the story 50x more boring when i think he made the story 50x more interesting, and his reason for wanting to help Sumin was also reasonable to me.

That sounds hilarious! In short, I would try to hint at the fact that this is gonna be funny/ silly in the dialogue & introduction of things (make the dialogue over the top, give places and people silly names, have them do unexpectedly weird things in a scene early on...) I'd really love to make a video on this, not only for satire but on the whole "playing with expectations" thing now 😆

⁠@@ndbern42 well.. my comic is the type of story that starts out lighthearted but becomes more serious as the story goes on. The entire reason why I’m writing this comic in the first place is because webtoons tends to push a lot of the same generic story that pushes toxic messages about relationships and romance that my comic is meant to subvert and make fun of those tropes to show them for what they really are.

Maybe include a disclaimer in the description that the story will get dark. Personally, I don't think a bait and switch is the worst thing in art as long as readers are made aware of potential triggers or upsetting content. Though I guess your goal is important too. If you just want to portray a message and have something to say, just go ahead, that's what art is for, you'll find your audience and they'll appreciate your message. If you're looking to retain an audience and get as many eyes on your comic as possible, you probably won't want to mess with your audience or take them for a lot of twists and turns.
