Is it b20 or b25?

B25 I believe

b20 is 4-cylinder isn't it?

@@jonthornburg3723 nope, M50 is a six cylinder.

Wikipedia has the b25 engine bore at 3.3 inches 84mm And the b20 3.1 inches 80 mm So his new engine from his day trip is a b25

Those specifications seem wrong. .0004(four ten-thousandths) is a very tight tolerance for any street vehicle, let alone a race car.

Yeah that’s what I thought too, I just figured .002” is probably more reasonable lol, if you happen to find the proper size let me know!

@@Purpose_Built those numbers sound right. from what i know, 0.0001" is considered good and 0.0005" is typically the maximum taper or out of round according to machine shops, but honestly anything

@@andrewgordnier8266 the max taper is 5/10ths? i rebuild motors for a living. if you think you can measure to 1/10th ive got news for ya: that's 32x thinner than a human hair. just the slightest draft in the shop and especially the heat from your hand just holding the bore gauge will throw that off! usually out of round is .003'' max for a 3-4'' bore, oversize can vary .002'' -.004'' before it needs a bore. think about it: how many motors are out of round at least .002'' and run fine? id say 85% of them after 100k miles are like that

I would check out @imjoel KZbin videos. He has some very useful data in his rebuild videos
