Thanks for sharing Barry. With the correct fixtures you make it look ‘easy’ to strip down. By the time finished the tear down, I would still trying to remove the variable drive pulley! John 🇬🇧

Thanks for these videos Just picked up a Series 1 2J and will be going through the machine to make sure it's in good shape. It's nice to see how these come apart and go together. I'm sure I'll be buying parts in the near future!

Slick! If I did them every day , I make something like that too. But a few pieces of 4in angle worked for me. Don't forget the Kroil!

8:30 A couple of hardwood wedges on the motor repair bench come in so very handy. For end bells, and various rewinding tasks.

Just for the record that thing you took off isn't a "computator" which what I really think you meant to say was commutator but in this case it was neither. It was the field windings you took off. Commutators are usually found on the end of starter armatures or generators and is the part the carbon brushes rub against. Not trying to be critical, just helpful. Musta been the pressure of being on camera! This was a really good video as are most all the vids you guys have made on dealing with these machines. Thanks for taking the time to make them.

And you joined him in being wrong. AC motors don't have field coils. They have stators.

I really think you don't know what you are doing... Well i guess that goes straight to the scrap. The "computator" is actually the stator composed by the phase wirings. The motor falling in the press hurts...
