Hi Dave. Beautiful scenes brilliantly captured. You were one of the first wild camping you tubers I started watching. The winter camps when you are alone in tent chatting away are still the best content out there. I also lose things in tent in winter. Especially in my Hilleberg nallo which like most hilleberg tents has not enough pockets! Also have real problems with cold hands and feet. Amazes me when I’m out with someone else who is gloveless pitching their tent and I’m in a world of pain because I’ve taken my gloves off for 30 seconds!

Nice one 👍 I always find it takes a few camps to readjust to the winter camps in sub zero temperature 🥶. Thermarest are on the last chance saloon with me. On my third x lite as in many years.all warranty replacements. First one of the chambers separated and blew up while on a camp. The second one started deflating and couldn't find a hole. Turned out it was a faulty valve. On my third now so far so good 🤞. Also got a Cumulus quilt it's the 350 and it's been amazing. It's getting on a bit now and losing a bit of its loft so I just got myself a Zenbivy (somewhere in-between a sleeping bag and quilt) Hoping to test it out on Wednesday night.

@ unfortunately my main section of Z Lite blew away without me noticing! I now carry only a three section piece to go under the feet of my Groundchair. I now put rubber bands around this diminished section to make it more chunky in the event of it falling from my pack. I reckon though that even a three section piece may be sufficient to save my trunk from freezing in an emergency.

If you suffer from cold fingers and toes, try fixing the problem by adding capsaicin to your diet. It absolutely increases blood flow by dilating your blood vessels/ capillaries... I eat cayenne peppers, these are very tolerable and I also add Sriracha to orange juice. Bit of fair advise, start out easy, and increase the amount as you find your sweet spot for tolerance. Myself, I use about a tablespoon or tablespoon and a half of Sriracha in about 12 ounces of orange juice, 2 to 3 times depending on the day. I never have cold fingers or toes unless they get wet in very cold weather for an extended period of time.

@Olan...Ай бұрын
That looked like a cold one Dave but what a pitch 👌. I completely lost my faith with the Thermarest quality of recent years. Before i started using these lightweight mats i had one of the classic so-called self-inflating Thermarest for well over 25 years and apart from it never ever self in inflating once i got it inflated iot never once let me down and then when the 1st generation xtherm came out i bought one of those which never let me down but then i went down the road of the xlite and the newer xtherm model and it turned into a right fiasco with deflations and issues with the internal layers on the xlite so i just gave up in the end. Customer service with Thermarest is top notch biut i just want a mat thats going to stay inflated and keep me warm and so far the Nemo EC has done exactly that with no negative issues whatsoever plus i find it more comfy being a side sleeper

🤣Fight with a chicken... LOL I was just thinking whoever came up that way afterwards has probably spent ages trying to work out what bird has been killed by a raptor up there! Try Lancashire Sports Repairs for sleeping bag/quilt repairs. I've used them for jackets and sleeping bag tears and zips. Not fast as they're so busy but very reasonable and they do a good job.

That bloody chicken 🐓 😂👍 A seam had split on the quilt so I’ve taped it up for now. Seems okay. See how it goes. Thanks for watching as always, Irene. Glad you enjoyed it. 😁

@ you carry enough in that rucksack without adding a chicken to the weight! Maybe you could train it to walk at heel…🤪

A fantastic camp Dave. I think that was probably one of my 1st solo camps up there back in January 2023. I had similar conditions to u, clear blue skies but really cold. I’m gona have myself a z lite mat just for that extra protection, I had an incident on my last camp when after a brief walk on top, got back to tent and the mat was flat, luckily I’d left the valve slightly open. Ive got the z lite sit pad and that’s fantastic, but having the mat is also great if anything does go wrong with your mat. Great to see u out again. ATB Pete

Cheers Peter. Yeah, the ZLite are well worth carrying just in case. ATB

I’ve patched it up for now, Jack. See how it goes 🤞

Probably be fine Dave, plus waiting for getting it back will disrupt camping schedule. Did you use McNett patches in the end?👍🏼

Great stuff, Dave. Some ornithologist will find those feathers and, before you know it, there'll be talk of goose predation by a Big Cat on Lonscale Fell.😂

Hi Dave, try stretching your lateral rotators in the buttock (Piriformis etc), muscle energy works best for me. Ask your Physio to check for pelvic tilt. In thirty years of practice, I find Pelvic tilt 80% of the time while treating lower back/hip pain. Two or three treatments, plus exercises and done!

Great to see you back out camping again Dave. I had to laugh about your comment on losing stuff in your tent . I do that all the time . I'm just back from the lakes during the storm Bert, searched the tent for my headtorch before realising it was actually on my head . 😅
