great save and remarkably similar pot. I think its less likely to be affected by wind, that may just be me being hopeful. Love the azalea. Greenwood does great work and they are lucky to have someone like you caring for their trees as a customer too.

The tree is now sat in a secure spot on the ground in my garden so no danger of a repeat disaster…

Looks very nice . To be honest I was quite shocked that your trees aren’t held down as my understanding of the climate in the uk is very unpredictable from one extreme to another.. which my stomach dropped seeing so many of your extremely beautiful bonsai trees that I dream of mine being at that level one day blown off your benches .. but I really do appreciate you showing the world this devastating video as Im going straight out after breakfast to make sure all of mine are secured down well even though where I’m from in southwest Sydney Australia is extremely mild weather when it’s at is worst compared to the rest of the world..anyway I love your videos of your garden it’s very inspirational for me as not only your trees are beautiful but the hole garden is very beautiful and has amazing structure which I’m big on have pretty major O.C.D problems one of the best overall gardens I ever seen ..cheers keep up the good work mate and be proud of yourself thanks Kind regards rodd francis

Normally the weather here is quite mild, and I have a high fence around the garden to mitigate the worst. A couple of small trees were blown onto the lawn, but the main damage happened with trees sat temporarily on my garden table. My tiniest trees are wired to my shelves but the larger trees are not - something I clearly need to rethink. 👍 Thanks for your kind comments Ross. 🙏

We have very different tastes in pottery, but that's what makes life interesting. I do love the colour of it though.

Lol 😂 What would you select for this tree Tony? Interested to hear your alternative view. The final pot is in my opinion not as nice as the one that got broken which I felt was perfect. My thoughts were that as an azalea it is a showy tree that deserves a decorative pot - the colour mutes that to a degree, and reflects the colour of the bark. The final pot is a bit deeper and more spherical, and the colour a bit darker.

So sorry about your loss in the storm, it's a terrible shame. I have just repotted an azalea which is full of flower buds. Whether it will bloom remains to be seen. A little tip. Give your azalea a dose of epsom salts a couple of times during the growing season. It helps the tree to absorb nutrients more easily. You can buy it in the shop that used to sell everything for a pound. A lovely tree. looking forward to seeing it in flower.

Looks great Jason. Just gave mine it’s initial potting up from nursery stock. Hopefully the kanuma and sphagnum will have it looking like yours in time. Thanks, keep growing

Just bought some kanuma online for the first time for my s. azalea. It's good to see yours is growing so well in it. Sorry to hear about all your fallen trees / broken pots.

Thanks. Your azalea will thank you for planting it in kanuma. They love that slightly acidic soil.

Nice combo, though i agree that the original pot colour may have been better. I have killed every Azalea i have owned 😪

Oh dear 😮 This one is ok, but I fear my dwarf azalea may be dead. It has never looked happy. Only time will tell.

I do like that Pot Jason any chance of a link as to where you bought it from, I have never bought a pot from China, are you stung for import duty.
@TheBonsaiGarden Жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, the pot came from potfriendsworld shop on Etsy. I used the app so don’t have a direct web url. There were no additional import taxes. I’ve bought several times from China and also from Turkey through Etsy.
