DISASTER RIDE | I Fall Off + First Ride On Edith!

Hi friends! 😍 In today's lesson I ride a new horse for the very first time! She is just a little baby as she's only 5 years old but she's massive! This was a really great lesson besides a little accident I had (oops!) Make sure you watch the whole video to find out what happened!

Oh wow! The fall looked more like a failed emergency dismount! 😂 but at least you will learn from this! These type lessons are always the ones that teach you the most!

Yes! Lessons like these and the jumping lessons were you only jump tiny cross poles 😂 they also really help as instead of thinking about how you’re going to get over a big jump you can think of your position and control!! 😆😄

Edith is so balanced in canter for only 5 years old! Lovely! Glad being launched didn't phase you at all, an experience every jumper has at some point I think, or going over a shoulder after a stop! (and from 16"3 it's a long way down, hope the bruise is tame)

Definitely. Fell off twice in once lesson after my first over jump and long spots last year September. Learnt my lesson and haven't fallen off since (specially with all the crazy antics the ponies I ride do when jumping)

You did so well Clara!! When I saw the title that you fell off I was so worried that you fell onto a jump!! I’m so glad that didn’t happen and you are okay!! I’ve fallen onto jumps multiple times and it HURTS! That is also how I got my bone bruise 🤣. You did so well on her!! I can’t wait for my ride tomorrow as I’m having my first jumping lesson since my break!! I also love the big strided horses they are so fun!! clara is dont know if your going to see this but i ride horses and your a huge inspiration! i’m super new and young and used to be TERRIFIED to canter, it didnt help that i rode a super spooky horse. at one point i didnt even want to trot i was so scared of going fast! then i watched your first canter vlog and just felt so comforted. now, i cant wait to learn to canter! keep it up clara!!💞

Clara! I aspire to have your confidence! A few lessons ago, I had a similar fall after getting launched over a jump, and was too scared to canter a jump again until my lesson today! From what I can see in the video, Edith IS lovely! She's so good and she did everything you asked of her. Obviously, she didn't pick up on your aids right away, but she's five and you're a novice rider. You're both young and green and you both did a marvelous job! Edith was so good when you fell. She just stood there and didn't freak out and like a champ you got right back on her and took the course again without skipping a beat! So proud of both of you! Can't wait to see you ride her again! Also, I just want to point out Edith is a very big girl, lots of muscle! Big people, and big creatures, just tend to move slower than everyone else. Elephants, cows, gorillas, Clydesdales! If you're big you just move slower because you have a lot more muscle to move around. I had a friend at work who was just a big guy, and I mean big in the sense that he was very tall and strong. So, lots of muscle. Me, I'm short and petite and I could literally walk circles around him. Not run, walk. I used to do that just to make fun of him! But then, whenever we would work together (I used to work at the post office), he would stack letter trays so high I couldn't reach them. We had a lot of fun together! Definitely one of my best friends!

glad youre okay! last week i was on a hack and the horse i was riding was kicked by another horse in front of me because i couldnt slow down and he jumped to the left😂😂 i fell out of the saddle but i didnt fall! (i have a 3 year streak fo not falling😂)

How was that a "disaster ride"? U did well and she`s only 5! To stop the overjumping, perhaps pull your reins a little more before you jump but keep your leg on to encourage her to wait until the jump comes to her. :)

I had three falls in one day today it did not help; I have a cold so my body is sort of weak and my last fall I was cantering on a horse that was sort of wonky going to one side and I was unbalanced and fell on the fence now my thighs are bruised and my wrist is strained lol
