Diesel is also black at the pumps here in Australia. Your neighbors seem real nice and the best thing I spotted in their house, in my mind, was that huge dining table, nothing says home and happy life than a huge dining table. We have Christmas at our house and I have to make up a long dining table every year for anything around 25 people and when it's all set up it makes me feel so happy. Then the gang come around a few generations and it's by far the happiest day of the year

I love this part of the world. One of my friends, well now his children own a Vineyard on the Douro. I miss the motorcycle rides through Portugal and Spain. Was the wine the friend served you vinho Verde? That’s my favorite on a Summer day. Wishing Anna a speedy recovery. Luna is a little darling. We Spaniards put a lot of “suhsss” in our words when trying to talk to the Portuguese, they are always polite and try to understand. I wish I could say the same for my people. We don’t even try to understand each other. The Andalusians refuse to understand a Catalon or Madridian and vice versa.

Hi James, We met you and Ana briefly somewhere in San Blass (Green Island I think). Anyway , we sold our boat in Fiji few months back and also decided to move to this area. We bought a house in Galicia (just north of Portugal). We love it here (exchanged boat work with farm work)

Life in the countryside seems ideal. Renting for a year is a good idea, imo until you settle in to land life. Travel distance to services for a child will come into play. Your love for blue ocean water another. Since it is so complicated to buy real estate there, you will want to do it once.

gasóleo or gasoeol in spain. gasoline is gasolina. Or sometimes you find a petrol Station with somebody fueling your car. they usually ask the driver which fuel. funny enough I own a 32 year old seat marbella. these cars have tiny engines and were never fitted with a Diesel engine but gen z folks always ask if the car runs on diésel. shows how not so smart they are and that they don't even know the history of their own country as the Marbella or former Panda is a legend in spain!
