It looks beautiful, but ...When I was 50 I bought a property in Australia and created an organic farm from scratch. It was 15 hour days, 7 days a week and my 2 children were growing like crazy and I hardly had time to be with them. Then I had the heart attack and it all went to sh*t, separation and divorce and lost the lot in the settlement! Be practical! It is very hard to make a living farming.

1st Portugal is a very beautiful country with beautiful people! This is a great opportunity for your family to start a very profitable business that will set you up for life. How many barrels of wine can you make a year and how many acres is this property? It's beautiful but are there other vineyards for sale that come with more land that have a better price? Your going to have to find out what all of the requirements are for renovating a building before you purchase and also purchase a travel trailer to live in and see if that's OK to do. It would be nice if they allowed you to build up and also out from the rock walls. That way you can remove some of the walls that you don't want.

such a stunning vieuw, wow thats something you never get tired of…..its endless work to bring this ruin back to a livable space, but with determination and help of friends it a long term project that can br fullfilling….just be aware that it will need many years …and you have lots of very hard work on the terassed land thats your property too….a piont of attention to the fact that grapes are mostly heavily sprayed with bad chemical multiple time a week from march to september, so inform yourself about this too for the sake of you and your familys health….hope your dreams turn into reality!

The property is going to need alot of fiberglass work. 300 bottles a year is almost enough for a salty sailor.. The region continues as a hot spot for vacationers. Thanks for sharing James ⛵️ 👍

Welcome to our lands, Portugal. Ask some heelp from locals to you and your lovely family integrate in the society. You will need a lot of help because rebuilding this kind of house is very hard and tricky. And expensive too without help. Do not forget trying to put your child in the school ("pré-Primária") because children need social interactions and being part of local social groups. And most of all, be happy with us. And enjoy the region: it's absolutely fantastic.

Given the change in climate, there are a lot of Baigneres opting out of their present locations due to him continuing droughts really look into the drought on that property and heavily. Consider a lot of vineyards are moving up north, believe it or not.

Maybe someplace with other people? Other kids for Luna to grow up with? These places seem more like discovering an amazing, isolated anchorage. If you need to incorporate a business opportunity into the choice we get it.

Does code require you to build back using original construction method so the stone walls would all have to be recreated or can you rebuilding the missing stone with CMU blocks and poured concrete? Have you been able to get any construction estimates to rebuild this stuff? Would love a glass of Zingaro wine at sunset with that view.

Watch out Folks there is a serious overproduction of wine across Europe, for many vineyards market prices are no longer covering costs The business is no longer what it used to be... except for "grand cru"

Bro, why haven't you considered the coffee axis region in Colombia? Just as beautiful as this, if not more. Check out the area around Pereria, Filandia, Circasia and Armenia. It's your baby's and mommas home country too. Really surprised you haven't consider this area. It's insane beauty. You need to take the time to check it out before making your final decision. Truly.

Colombia gets 70/100 from Freedom House. Portugal gets 96/100. That's quite the difference... What's the crime rate in Colombia? How are the schools? One thing about Portugal though is that the entire(?) country is situated in one of the worst earth quake zones on the planet. So if they buy a house in Portugal they'd better think of that aspect... If you want to read the reports from Freedom House yourself - then just punch in "colombia freedom house 2024" into google. For Portugal you naturally just exchange Colombia for Portugal.

That view is seriously beautiful but I reckon it'd cost a small fortune to buy it even as a ruin! If restored the idea of a pool or spa bath is a ripper idea and fruit and vegetables would have to planted seasonally for food right on the doorstep. I wish you had included the asking price for the different house ruins and the estimated cost of full restoration. Bub's getting bigger but what happened to Anna James? Stay safe for all of you and have a ripper!

Portuguese citizenship? The property might qualify you for a golden visa and permenent residency. Some people still believe this no longer exists, but that is not true. There are some thresholds/minimums you'll have to look iinto whether it qualifies, but if you do qualify you can also get full citizenship after that. Something to look into. Good luck to you.

You build it, I will come!😂😂😂😂 MAKE SURE YOU GET A PROPERTY LAWYER. The government their is very particular when you do not build within the original foot print of the house. Unless, You have a good Property Lawyer and Architect! I have some friends you should hook up with. I'll email you their info. They are renovating in the Coimbra area. Cool people! Whatever you decide, I'm behind/beside you Brother!! That Douro River is Beautiful. I almost did a cruise down it 3 yrs ago! I still want too. You can see all the old Castles and Vineyards. You can take day Cruises out of Porto. Hey, when you do find a place, thats an option for downtime (if there's any) in the vineyards. Remember, Very Important, YOU CAN'T EAT ALL THE PROFIT BEFORE THE WINE IS MADE!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 ✝️🙏🙏🙏❤❤🥰🍼⛵👣🎶🎶🇺🇸🇵🇹☘🍍🍍🍍🍍

You should consider at least having a small sea view. Maybe some flatter ground for a play set for a couple of kids, pool, chicken coop, veg garden. This is a ruin, so huge money is going to be needed for just simple infrastructure. IMHO. I'd do a hard pass.
