Hey!! You're the first one to respond to this posting!! Hooray!!! I'm so happy for you!! I would suggest getting a really simple beginner set of discs. Innova has a beginner set for about $20 on Amazon. Just keep it simple until you start getting the hang of it. Most of all, have fun out there!!

Also, just getting a Glitch would be a great disc to have. It will be of good use to you. It's easy to throw and you won't outgrow it. I really love that disc!

I'm 72. My favorite disc is a Prodigy F9. I also like the L64 Maul & River. My max distance is 312' but usually I'm closer to 250'.

this is wonderful! but please don't restrict yourself to "old guy" discs as you progress in your disc golf journey. i have played since i was 21 in 1982. i have found as i get older that i have to find the right weight for a particular mold that works for me. so if you watch a video with someone throwing a (insert disc) and it flew perfectly, you might be able to throw that same disc in a lower weight. the main thing you have to to learn is to throw the disc as flat as you can. drivers are meant to be thrown slightly nose down, mid ranges perfectly flat and putter slightly nose up . it took me 30 years to learn this and then disc golf became way more enjoyable. BTW i shot my 3 best rounds of my life at 58 yrs old on courses i had played for over 20 yrs.

The Tursas is a great disc for me, holds the line you put it on, easy to throw and flies straight also.

@@NickArnette I won the Tursas on a CTP in either a league game or doubles match, it has been a go to disc for a good while but I’ve started turning it over a lot lately so I have to throw it on short shorts now most the time.

I had suggested the DGA Pipeline. We have a 205' hole at our course with a pretty low ceiling of trees for the first 50 feet. Which is why I throw a fairway driver on a 205 foot hole. To have max flight at low altitude. I have 9 aces on that hole with my two pipelines. Great idea for a video Nick.

Wow!! You have 9 aces!! Aces have eluded me!! haha! Once I hit the top of the basket, but that was about as close as I ever got. Hit the pole once, too. Good on you, friend!! My drives are barely 200 feet on a good day! haha!

Great to see the list, but it is time to throw some. Look forward to your next video. Tursas is a Finnish War God or Octopus. Based on the stamp, I think they have chosen the multi legged beast of the sea deginition. They are great approach discs, very straight and beneficial for narrow fairways.

I've got a Divergent starter set. Really nice set and a pretty good price. So far they're very low arm speed friendly and go from stable to understable.

Hey Nick! Great list. However the Axiom Paradox is listed incorrectly. It is a very understable midrange (5/4/-4/0) and not an overstable driver. It is a great disc for slow arm speed players wanting to learn how to throw hyzer flips!

Not an old guy here, rather a seasoned lady experienced disc golfer😊 However I do play with an old(er) guy who's soon to be 79 years young. I have a suggestion, how about coming up with a list of drivers (under 10 speed) that can be got in the weight ranges from about 145gm-160gm. As we've aged it's pretty much a rule that we just throw around 150 gram drivers, generally 7-9 speed ( they don't do well in wind, but while heavier discs cut through the wind better our arm speed doesn't get the disc up to speed to get very far). We approach with discs in the 160's and putt heavy, 175g.

First of all, thank you for your comment. I say Old Dude disc golf, but dudettes are more than welcome, too!! Yes, thanks for the suggestion. It's so frustrating to hear about drivers and then they aren't available in lighter weights. I will be reviewing a few in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, I'm a big fan of the Diamond, it's an 8-speed but flies as far as anything else I have and it's in the 156g range. I would stay away from Blizzard plastic or try one out that a friend has before buying one. It's light but tends to fly very overstable.

Your suggestion of the Diamond is and has already been in play with us. I actually just received a 158g (slightly used) in opto plastic yesterday! I had a 154g that I kept turning over so donated it to the spouse. Unfortunately it rolled off into some nasty brush never again to be seen by us😥 I'm sure someone is appreciating its use. However, a 155g (slightly used) Diamond in Gold plastic had taken its place. We also throw a Sidewinder, Jade and Sphinx in light plastic. If someone is looking to cut cost some options are overruns, misprints and slightly used discs.

So I went to Skybreed Discs a couple of weeks ago, as they stock a fair number of lightweight discs, and bought a few. I deliberately chose the Innova Boss in Blizzard plastic, because even though it's a 13-speed disc, it was only 139 grams. Well, I just wanted to report that even though it's incredibly light, I can't seem to get enough speed on it to make it fly properly. Is it flying a good distance? Yes, but not as reliably overstable as I had hoped. I'll continue to work with it, but it might just be too lightweight for me. As usual, great job, Nick! Thanks for compiling The List.

Oh my gosh!! Yes, that Blizzard plastic is not my favorite at all. I've never thrown any blizzard plastic disc that I could make fly properly. For me, it's super overstable. Bummer. I hope ou didn't pay too much for it.

Ahh! The Sol is a great mid range. I flick most everything. If I need to finish left, then I reach for the Sol.

This list is great but I have to question the discs with speed of 11-13 on this list. I thought this was for those with "low arm speed". These discs with speeds of 11+ require more arm speed - not less.]

Yes, you're right. I don't agree with the entire list but I did include them because they recommended them. I did mention staying at 9 speed or below, and I will repeat that again in my upcoming videos. There's even a 13-speed on the list!
