Here is an effective and simple warm-up routine before your disc golf round. You don´t need any equipment and you can follow along if you want. Tina Antonsson (who you see in the video) and Jonas Munckhammar both work as personal trainers and they, very kindly, tailored this warm-up specifically to fit disc golf. I personally feel that it can be very taxing on the body and I will for sure use this warm-up myself before playing a round or trying to throw as far as possible out on a field.
I hope you´ll enjoy the video and get a lot out of the warm-up! ❤🤘

A bit about me if you´re wondering:
I started at Latitude 64° a bit over a year ago and been trying to learn the sport of disc golf and making videos of that process from that day onwards. Before that I hadn´t even heard of disc golf. So it´s been a really great and fun experience so far (still feel I have a lot to learn, tho) watching and learning from the people around me at work and the great tips from all of you guys. Thank you for that!

I actually have a massive advantage when it comes to disc golf, I am completely ambidextrous so I throw just as good with my left as I do with my right. but I only throw hard throws with my right because I have an old shoulder injury which prohibits me from throwing hard with my left. and I have to get good before I can use this superpower fully...

I started five months ago and just turned sixty. Stretching and warming up is definitely important. As for distance, work on form and technique. If you know what you’re supposed to be doing, watching video of yourself throwing can be very enlightening. If not, have someone who does watch it with you! Finally, pay attention to the angles the disc is coming out at… in the beginning I just worked to be able to throw what I called “flat/flat”. Good luck!

I’m just starting to get to 300. I think form/technique is key… I’ve been told that mine is really good for only playing five months, and while I’m now focusing on my forehand and upshots, I notice that my backhand distance is still improving. I’m guessing that has to do with my body becoming more comfortable with what I’m having it do. Good luck, and have fun!!

En sådan film hade underlättat 😅 Keep up the good work!! 👊😎

Jonathan I really like your videos, but this one. As a ball golfer and a sport trainer I see this as yoga, if you want to warm-up you need to get the blood pressure to go up and het the muscle warm, you not doing that. You were getting relaxt, the thing you don't want. This was not a whole warm-up this was just the stretching. I wrote a warm-up for discgolf for the training that I give. It is half an hour not 3 min. Again love your videos, but this is not a warm-up
@Latitude64
@Latitude64 3 жыл бұрын
I understand where you´re coming from, Jordi. What I wanted to do with this video was a warm-up that I, and hopefully more people, would actually do before a round. In an ideal world one should probably warm-up for a bit longer and or do it more explosively if limited to 5 minutes. However I do not think I´d keep it consistant if the warm-up takes too long or it too taxing. So I wanted to try to find a repeatable sweet spot, if that makes sense. Have a great day! /Jonathan
