I just boosted a priest to 110 with a plan to become shadow. But then just for giggles i tried discipline. This has to be by far the MOST FUN healing specc in the game. holy FUCK. Resto shamans feels like literal dogshit compared to this. I migh actually main disc priest for shadowlands instead of dps, it's so good. The specc has an incredible amount of depth to it (a LOT of buttons with like 5 or 6 cooldown, which I love) which means being a good disc priest is probably very hard. Thanks for this very informative video.

I've switched to mindbender and I'm really enjoying it, I'm at lvl 12 to 13 keys at the moment and I was finding my self not getting chance to use power world solace, and running oom, I feel with mind bender you can basicly have it up every group more or less and it feels like it returns alot of mana and heals alot, what's your view on this and the state of disc in mythic plus in 8. 3 overall? This is the first time I've tried to go higher in keys and I wondered how disc does getting up towards the high teens?. Great videos man

I've tried it a couple times, due to the such short cool down with the minor I've not really noticed it much and when it does I don't really need it it's abit too RNG for me I've been using life binders invocation rank 3 as my major for the last two seasons, find my biggest weakness as disc is actulay big aoe heals, popping that before a big burst of damage for example as soon as you go into the other realm at +10 is a life saver

In a key setting The VoP major is ok, it is a decent balance of healing / DPS. you would want to keep it as Shadowfiend because it has a longer duration, meaning it will be up longer than a bender. The real decision in the major slot is weather to take DPS or Healing essence. Meaning Tide or Crucible should usually be run as a major.

Im just trying this now, obviously just checking it for SL. It's a fun to play spec, just seriously stressful. I play a restoration shaman as a main, and I feel more in control of my healers, esp if more than 2 players are BADLY damaged in a dungeon, I'm like f*** I dunno what to do! :D Any tips? Shadow Covenant any good for M+?

Yeah, most likely. When you don't read descriptors of the spells you are casting then yeah, you have done it wrong. Only a couple combos but to someone like you, might be hard to understand... and I get that just from your original post.

You should use Penance as movement ability not on cd

Not quite right, you can hold it for a maximum of 2 secounds, if you know, heavy movement is going to be needed. Holding it for movement only is a big waste of: a) Mana efficency, b) Healing output, and c) dmg output (which is also a relevant aspect). You have many options to handle movement as a disc. You can use Panance, replace PW:S's and Atonements, you can set new Dot's oder refresh them, use Solace or even in big situations, use Rupture and spamming PS:S's to keep everyone alive.

Each bolt of penance has a chance to crit, so Penance is > Smite. If your Smite does not crit, and none of your Penance bolts crit, the damage of Penance is more than twice as much as Smite. If your Smite does crit and your Penance does not, the damage of both spells is about equal.

It's not very strong, especially considering the mana cost in comparison to just a Smite, therefore simply using it on cooldown outside of trying to push heavily for damage is not recommended. It is however a slight dps/hps increase to use it over a Smite, so use it as your mana allows it. Note that during your Schism window you should always use Penance - The best Disc Priest in the world atm

Why dont you talk about the priest ramp up? And how to do it. I’ve watched this video and the guide one . Thats what disc is all about burst healing throught that ramp up. Thumbs down for missing that point and just being generic
