In this video I build a 20cm drill powered disk sander. It is a powerful disk sander. There is a miter sanding attachment and there is a circle sanding attachment. You can do beautiful woodwork with this great sanding machine.

I'm using this disc sander since builded. I wanted to give you some advice. It would be good to make attachments a little wider. Up to 34cm. In addition, insert nut - bolt can be used instead of screws to remove and install attachments. Thank you Humberto Hernandez & Hans Bächtold Regards.

Eine wunderschöne, gut durchdachte Konstruktion. Schon das Zusehen beim Bau hat Freude gemacht. Was ich bei anderen Postern auf diesem Gebiet meist vermisst habe, habt Ihr anschaulich gezeigt, nämlich die Schritte zum Austauschen des Schleifmittels. Gratulation zu dem Projekt. I like the build in general, and would like to try this with some adjustments to the plan. I think the stock is thick enough that you could use threaded inserts in the base for the removable section. That way, the wood won't wear from the screws being removed. Also, I have to wonder about the durability of the double sided tape as the adhesion technique for the sanding discs. Seems that after several removals, the glue would wear from heating and removal.

I put the part in front of the sanding wheel on drawer runners with a lock, that way I don't have to dismantle it to change the sand paper. I also used Velcro backed paper, to save time.

Very good job! I would suggest you to add 02 hinges on the lid instead of screwing it. In this way, it would be easier to open and replace the sand disc. On the other hand, your video is attractive...no adds...no boring electronic music! Congrats!

Very nice project. I made a similar one about 4 years ago using my late fathers old Black and Decker corded drill and after a bunch of work it is still going strong. If it packs up tomorrow I would make another more like yours as I don't have the various attachments you made. I assume you operate it with a foot switch or something but the trigger looks as though it is not pushed in. Maybe you could explain. When I did mine I Just tied down the trigger and switched it on and off via a switched socket. Also I used a velcro system so it was a piece of cake to change the discs. If it were a foot control I would be snookered as I am paraplegic so my legs just do not work. Great video though thank's

Hi Barry Norman, thank you very much, I'm glad you like it. Yes, I'm using a foot switch. But it doesn't matter! It possible to use on-off hand switch as you do. There is a black button for locking on my drill. It is close to trigger. Please look again, the trigger is locked. I didn't want to use the Velcro system. Because my sandpaper is not suitable and the Velcro system is soft and can be stretched. I congratulate You've done a wonderful job. Regards.

De acuerdo..... ¡Es una Gran idea! PERO..... Creo que pudiste mejorar la un poco mas, por ejemplo: - La seccion de abajo de la lijadora: se puede hacer una mini caja, Ó una entrada mas grande como una mini puerta con visagras y seguro de cerrado facil ya que, sera tedioso colocarle una aspiradora para recorger los restos. - Montarle un motor mas grande como de 800 o mas RPM y 1 con boton de apagado y encendido a un costado de la caja. No creo que los taladros sean opcionales para esto (Para espectativas de uso). - Para el cambio de la lija en el disco: la parte frontal deberia ser desmontable ya que, la madera que sujeta los tornillos tendra desgaste con el cambio periodico del dicho papel. El resto de las medidas ¡Me parece excelente!
