You are, without a doubt, the most talented woodworker designer, I have ever witnessed. Your videos are extremely well produced and without a word spoken, you manage to seize our undivided attention until the very end. Congratulations to you. I have a question, what brand of brad and auger bits are you using in your videos ? Thank you for everything. Keep well and raise hell. Sincerely, Dave & The Girls

Haven't collected any in the past few months, but going to be on the lookout for more as I need to put together a headache rack for my Pickup so that I can mount some Ham radio antennas, hazard lights, and the like. This is also a reasonable location to find discarded washing machines for the motors, and if you are looking for some enameled sheet metal for housings, or simply to make up a small white board for project tracking.

I would suggest putting this together with screws instead of glue, that way you can take it apart and get to the wiring if you ever need to do maintenance on it, or make future modifications. Otherwise a great idea, and beautiful precision and workmanship as always.

Just bought my second belt and disk sander. This one works, but you're project reminds me that I should really dig into the first one I bought. I bought it 'as is' and discovered that one of the reasons why it was discounted so heavily is that it literally did fall off a truck, or suffered similar damage, as the entire cast iron frame was broken and or cracked in many places. That said, the motor, bearings and many of the working surfaces are, or should be good. Between this project and Matthias Wandel's belt and disk sander projects I should be able to work out a way to build that back up into something workable. We'll see. It would be good to have a second working belt and disk sander so that I can get more done at different locations w/o having to haul an entire shop's worth of tools back and forth. Thank you for the video.

Let it be an example to those who put nonsense music in their videos. It's not about the music, it's about the skill of the master. I hate videos with music.
Awesome . But I would have considered turning some of this torque into speed with some gear reduction

I have taken motors from old power drills to make a sander, I have toaken motors from Hard disk drives for sanding as well, but thats light sanding. Taken motors from laserjet printers (not sure what to do with those) and now I am going to be on the lookout for washing machine motors.

*The squirrel cage blower inside a dryer can be recycled into a super powerful fume extractor.* I built one from a dehumidifier's squirrel cage blower and while it works well, it's feeble compared to the blower I pulled out of an old dryer. Relative to this, I have a washer motor for high speed arbor that runs giant buffing shanks. I also have a cheap drill press I have a washer motor for that will take it to a much higher level of performance than the stock.
