Really like the star Natalie Moorhead. A shame she didnt advanced beyond these "Vixen" roles to become a bigger star. Today, she is mainly noted for her small role in The Thin Man (34). The films narrative is rather weird in that it almost eerily predicts the same trajectories of Thelma Todd's murder in 1935. While Todd was very well liked, she did have a hectic and very messy romantic life. The business of Irma Gladden being an interloper between her director and his wife, echos that Thelma's involvement with her director Roland West (Corsair, 1931) and his wife, former silent star Jewel Carmen (The Bat, 1926). Irma is discovered dead in her car----- as was Thelma, both returning from parties.

This picture was made in 1932, Norma Gladen was killed in the front seat of her car, seams strange the same way Thelma Todd the Hollywood movie actress was killed the same mysterious way in the front seat of her car, December 16, 1935. Maybe the killer of Todd got the idea watching this movie in some movie theater, what a coincidence how John Dillinger was shot and killed coming out of movie theater on July 22, 1934, glad i now watch all my old B/W who done mystery movies on my computer screen, Thanks KZbin 12-17-23
