I can tell you have a G3 Sportsman cammo boat. I just got mine 2 days before father's day.... already tricking it out with custom removable trolling T-bars and same for Crappie bow T-bars. Made some boat guides for trailer. TIP...BIG TIP, .......... learned something valuable from a old timer. Got a hitch receiver that dropped the front end of my trailer 4 inches. Now my boat goes on the trailer so much easier.

The guy filleting excellent job when filleting down toward the bottom of the tail i always flip them over and continue taking the fillet off of the skin excellent way of doing it 👍. So where is the how to build the trot line video. What hooks do y'all use

I thought in Texas for a trotlines they have to be attached to a permanent fixture on both ends
@ReelTexasOutdoors11 ай бұрын
Hey there, thank you for the comment and question. Running them between two clumps of concrete blocks is probably more solid thsn tying to a tree. Actually, they will be there a lot longer than that tree will be. We use both, but these lines were all sunk with blocks.

Hey did that video ever come up on setting up of the trotlines? Can't find it

Where is final catch and how to cook
@ReelTexasOutdoors3 ай бұрын
Hi Mike - thanks for the comment and question. Unfortunately, we never got around to making another trotline video or a catch/cook. We definitely need to do this someday soon though.

i don`t understand why you let some go. To small???
@ReelTexasOutdoors8 ай бұрын
Hi Carl, thanks for the comment. Yes sir, if I recall correctly, we had a lot of fish and stopped keeping the smallest ones. I really like the 2-10 lb range (if I had to choose).

Wished you would show how y’all set those trotlines with out tying of to a tree. Can’t find hardly anything on that. Even if you show it on paper.

@Terry Winderweedle thanks, I will give it a try.

If you’ll put your catch in a ice chest with lots of water and aeriation you can get them home alive and healthy. Put them in a kiddie pool with an air stone and aquarium pump. Keep them for a week or so in that clean water, they’ll taste a lot better.

Use white styrofoam for your bait in your traps. You can always pick up a disposable styrofoam cooler.

Hope you didn’t eat them smaller ones even though they are the perfect size to stock a pond with
@davingros5698 Жыл бұрын
When you freeze your fish like that you should lay them flat they're easier to thaw and to store

Leave the small ones for the bait flathead will eat smaller catfish
@ReelTexasOutdoors10 ай бұрын
I've definitely seen that happen. We've also caught a lot of fish just baiting up our lines b/c a smaller fish will hit the bare hook and then the larger cat will eat them. Pretty wiled and always a good surprise. Thanks for the comment as well, sir!

Trotline responsibly please. Mark them please and don’t leave them unchecked or left their for other fisherman to get hung up on.
