This is great information. Sir, Sir, Sir, I almost fell off the chair (lol) when you said, Who is talking?, Who are they talking to?, Why did the conversation take place in the beginning? Where were they at at the time, geographical location as some conversations that took place in the Bible only had to do with that geographical locations and "what" do I need to glean from it? You went into far more points than the 5 that were brought to my attention however, I've shared with people that there can be more than "5" thoughts when "reading and studying" the Bible" those were just the 5 that was brought to my mind at the time. Thank you so much.

A straightforward approach to reading and putting God's word into practice is SOAP. Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer are the four easy steps in SOAP: Scripture: Write down or read aloud a brief passage from the Bible.

it is recommended that on the off chance that you're employing a considered Book of scriptures, it'll have assets at the beginning of each chapter that will assist you to understand who composed the chapter; when, and why. At that point, you'll be able to move on to really perusing the verses a small at a time. Begin at the start.

@ourlifeinwashington41145 жыл бұрын
To me it's to take away the verse and undo any pretext then add the context. I want to be able to know the where, when how and what. What the landscape is, what's the societal normal for the people that we are reading about. Then you will honestly learn what then text is trying to tell you. The Bible wasn't written with chapter and verses and was written with the influence of the times.

Well, the first thing you need to make sure of is that what you're receiving lines up with scripture. If not, then what you are receiving is not from God. I have received dreams before that feel extremely real and that I can describe as being powerful experiences, however, they were not given to me by God and I found that out because I placed what I experienced and saw up with scripture. We must also learn the context of the scripture to be able to do this too. God bless you.

When you study the Bible, you have to pray that the Holy Spirit, The Helper should assist you to understand what you are reading and how to apply or act the script .. Secondly, we study the Bible to obey,and in obedience, our lives shine to glorify God by us becoming a blessing towards our family members, the community and the country as a whole. So you keep Sunday as the Sabbath day but yet it is the first day of the week and not the seventh day; so knowing that Jesus, kept the sabbath until he died and never intended to change it why do you keep Sunday? This is not a small thing with God.

Romans 14:5 (NIV) 5 One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind.
@armorvestrus68825 жыл бұрын
@@Josh-Hunt Thank you for the reply. First understand I was not throwing stones at you. I was very direct just to get you to consider a point. Now notice that Paul, said, " One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. But God said, plainly what he considered as his holy day, Exodus 20: 8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 but the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Are we to have his law written in our hearts minus one law? Please think about that and God bless you.
@followerofchrist20924 жыл бұрын
@@armorvestrus6882 to add to this, John 14:15 "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments." Many people will argue that the law of keeping the sabbath day holy is done away with, but Jesus clearly states in Matthew 5: 17-20 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. 19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." Also, in the new testament in the the book of John 14:21, "He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him." We are still to honor and keep God's commandments. To blessed.

I will love to learn the bible. By study I read the Bible for certain things I don't understand
@John-wx3zn2 жыл бұрын
First understand that you can always understand the Holy Bible because Father God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit has already opened your eyes, mind and heart so you don't have to worry about this. Just get on with undertanding it. Study english grammar if you speak english and read english so you may interpret Holy Bible teachings correctly. For example, you need to have memorized what an adverb is, verb is, adjective is, noun is, pronoun is, preposition is, conjunction is, interjection is, phrase is, and that phrases can function as different parts of speach like a prepositional phrase can function as an adverb. You need to know correct word meanings also like proleptic. You need to know what an appositive is. You need to understand how to construct sentences correctly exemplifying proper word placement. You don't bombard the scripture with questions. You have a list of questions with your Holy Bible scripture with a list of questions and patiently go through the questions. The Holy Bible study group sits together in an organized fashion with a monitor. The monitor reads the scripture passage. Then the monitor asks the group the first question. Then the monitor lets each person in turn answer the question until done or a reasonable amount of time has passed so each person is respected and has a chance to answer the question. The sharing of answers is done this way for each question in the list.
@suelincoln26935 жыл бұрын
I would start with prayer, for God's understanding of each and every passage. He will give you understanding, wisdom and knowledge. Are you aware that there is no man or woman on this earth can teach you God's holy words but God himself, the best teacher you will ever have. So going to a theologian college is not biblical. And therefore achieves nothing. There is no preacher on this earth that can be ordained by another human, only Jesus our Saviour has this God given right. So all your so called religions leaders are no more than you and I and have no authority in the true gospel and preaching of God's word.
@sjabane4 жыл бұрын
I agree with God is the ultimate teacher through the Holy Spirit... Sorry Sue I disagree with your ascession that theological training is useless. That's why the world is full of people who mislead and descieve people with gemicks and theatrics. For Three years Jesus trained His disciples and prepared them for the mission after His accession to Heaven. So u need to reconsider ur stance on theological training.
@888WulfDog8883 жыл бұрын
@@sjabane Paul also said that few should become teachers because they will be judged more severely. There is a place for teaching because it's part of the great commission. Jesus Himself directly commanded that we teach.

Rick Warren is hardly a good teacher to follow regarding how to teach the Bible, not that he has come across some right teaching but at his core he is syncristic, that is he has taken his own word and beliefs and inserting them as Biblical. I don't know Hunt but beware if he is looking to Warren for examples, he maybe doing exactly what he is warning others not to do, be deceived. I suggest you to look at John MacArthur and gty ministry and Paul Washer and Heart Cry ministry for guidance on teaching God's word.

You said "studying the Word of God is dangerous." Nowhere in the Word of God does it say this. You get on here like you know it all but you teach wrong! It is safe and the right thing to do to study the Word of God. When you teach that studying the Word of God is dangerous, then you discourage people from studying the Word of God. Also, if you misinterpret the Word of God and go out to obey your wrong interpretation, you bad results.
