Hi Dave. I love your videos. I might recommend wearing protective eye goggles while doing a pop test just to protect against an eye injury in case a broken band hits the eye. I have also seen a video done by a couple of guys doing a pop test on resistance band by anchoring it to an immovable post and fastening it to a 4x4 truck. They drove the truck and measured the distance it took the band to break. The distance was compared between bands. Trucks & bands. A great pair!

I am a subsciber and appreciate the recent band exercise videos with no attachments. I also use Undersun bands for the loop style. I use GOFit bands for the tubes. The Gofit and Undersun door anchors are premium anchors. They are also large enough to never slip under a door. As far as the concerns that after months of use the Clench bands will tear using the Clench handles, I agree. I use - bare hands for Undersun - due to slip on the band surface no issues. I also drape the Undersun & GoFit bands over polished steel pipe, from Home Depot, not black pipe, too rough. Any band should only contact a polished pipe or a nice door anchor. The premium Undersun anchor is better than the GoFit anchor as it is covered with the plastic tubing where the band comes into contact. I have had the full collection of Undersun and GoFit in doubles and have no damage after 18 months. I use all bands 5 days per week. In addition I use the Rogue loop bands. Rogue has the highest resistance but are costly in Canada. No damage to Rogue bands. I use an actual weight bar and attach the GoFit tubes on the end of each bar, the bands have an eyelet at each end and the eyelet is large enough to be slipped on the weight bar. The band is then looped over the polished bar behind me and I do a standing press outwards from the chest. The polished pipe is mounted to wall studs with 4 individual pipe hangers spaced evenly. I also have an overhead polished pipe mounted the same way. The GoFit bands do not have the caribener at the ends which I prefer. Similar to the Toroband tubes. I also use the weight bar to do standing curls. I can use the Undersun bands here or the GoFit bands. Loop bands are slid over the weight bar in the center and my feet pinch them on the ground - makes for an excellent curl and you can also do a standing press. Thanks for all th epro videos Dave!!!

Great review! I actually use different bands but I use their handles and wall anchors. If you have the space (mine are mounted on a wall in my garage), the anchors are truly a game changer. I bought 6 wall anchors so I can have dual placement in a low position, mid position and high position. A new world of possibilities opens up when you have these 6 anchor points, verses a single mount position at any given time. The anchors make all the difference 💯💯. Keep up the good work Dave… respect ✊

Yes I really want wall anchors but Mrs. DD is not a fan of drilling holes in our walls and we only have a 1 car garage with 2 cars and theres always a car in there, but Maybe if the channel becomes more successful we can upgrade our home and I will have the space for wall anchors. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Enjoy your channel, I use the clinch handles, no experience with there bands.. No issues with the handles using two complete sets of loop bands one for each body side .Your correct, best to get a good HD set (2) door anchors if a door is your only option.. Perhaps your next step is to set up a left and right Wall Anchor @ Low, Medium & High (lots of options out there) if you have the space to do it. No more dealing with door anchors. I bought metal piping that runs from my garage floor to about 7 feet and attached it to the wall with additional hardware .. Now I can set my bands at any desirable height depending on the exercise. If no garage there is always the back yard to add two poles anchored in the ground with concrete. Additionally you can add a bar across the top for pull/chin ups... Keep up the good work Dave !!

I’ve had similar experiences with my clench. They’re the first bands I bought, and I really enjoy them but I did receive one of their heavier bands gouged but they were helpful with exchanging it. They also are coming out with a footplate that looks awesome!

Use a extra safety for the door. A double door anchor is never wrong. I use a thin cargo strap and loop it on the side of the door anchor.

The advantage of those door anchor (and their best use ) is that you can loop them over a chin-up bar, a branch of a tree or even around a small tree.

Very good video. Overall handles is what actually worth paying attention. I'm using most of the things from company called FitBeast including both type of bands - loop and tube. So far after year and half plus working out 6 days a week those bands are performing great. Even bought couple spare pairs while waiting to pop but my very first pair still holding as day one . Plus they seems to be budget friendly. You quite brave with this snapping tests ain't gonna lie..wouldn't try it myself.

good door anchors should have neoprene protection on the loop (like bodylastics, I know you have them). without neoprene, bands damage risk is definitely higher

Great video. I appreciate someone who suffers for their art! 😁 The layered bands like those from Clench often have that “bubble.” It is a sealing seam. It isn’t a defect. All those bands should have it. Clench bands are great, never had a pop (and wasn’t surprised the red one did since clearly it was too light of a band for the stress being put against it here). Nonetheless, I sold all my Clench bands and stick with Undersun. The anchor strap needs a better design, and the handles, while nice, in the end, didn’t add much of anything to band training for most exercises. There are better options for handles to use with bands anyway for the few band exercises that using handles are even worth bothering about (curls, and, well, that’s about it), if that’s what someone is into.

Thanks for the review! Clench Fitness bands are my go-to at home, mainly because of using them in pairs (Undersun are my ready to go travel bands). So far, they quality has held ip great! I also ordered the Clench Fitness bag which is the best quality resistance bands bag I own.
@DisciplineDave2 жыл бұрын
Yea I love the Undersun bag and you have to buy that also, but it at least comes with a cheap plastic one

That 'extra layer of latex' was probably the one Latex Weld which keeps the band loop intact. Other band companies put two of three welds on their bands and that can weakien the bands!

I have the handles but they are awkward to me. I wish the ends rotated freely from the center handle so the handle didn't spin in your hand for some exercises.

Just a note, DD. To my understanding that "defect" in the band is a result from how the band is made (layered) and is not a defect. Correct me if I am wrong though. Furthermore, I've put a small tear into my green clench band using the handles in the deadlift. (I've put tears into a couple of others but I wasnt sure if it was due to the handles.) I really wanted these handles specifically for leg exercises and so to find that they arent so useful for this is quite disappointing and I'll be investigating j-hooks instead. I also live in the UK and so getting a hold of this meant I had to pay quite a lot for shipping. They're not worth the extra cost, unfortunately. Layered bands are nice but they really arent THAT much better than molded bands. Back to undersun for me.
@DisciplineDave2 жыл бұрын
I agree I like Undersun better. I feel if some bands have that piece sticking out and some don't I would call that a defect. There is a way to doing layered by shaving that piece off. Thats just lazy quality control. I didn't try alot of leg exercises with the handles but I will and keep you posted. Thanks for watching and for comment.

@shimshonchaddock31572 жыл бұрын
Hey Dave. How are you? I'm writing to you from New Zealand. Thanks for your videos, I truly enjoy them! In all honesty I'm an Undersun fan boy. I've been using their products for about 3 years now. I love them. Their products are tops and their customer service is wonderful. I've recently bought the clench fitness handles and anchor. I've wanted to try their handles out for quite sometime. Though I love the many ways the Undersun anchor can be used I decided to also order the clench fitness anchor. The handles I've only used in 1 workout and I really like them but not sure how much I will use them. A bit distracting trying to get them loaded and bands in proper place, but I'll continue to try them out. Sorry for long message but I wanted to point out that your not using the clench fitness anchor correctly. When you shorten them the knot is supposed to be behind the rubber tubing, not in front like it seemed you did. Watch their instruction video again. Keep up the great work my friend!
@DisciplineDave2 жыл бұрын
I’m doing good my friend. Thanks for watching. Even if you put the knot behind the plastic piece the don’t think it will make a huge difference because the problem was the plastic went thru the door. With that logic it might be better to put the knot before the plastic because the knot did not slip thru the door.
@shimshonchaddock31572 жыл бұрын
@@DisciplineDave I agree with you 100% but might work for top of door, definitely won't make a difference at the bottom. Thank you for taking time replying sir!

I love clench bands they are great quality the idea of anchor is great but its long cause it can be used as anywhere anchor too but agree it may cause problems with narrow places they don't come in bag but they sell their own bag which is great quality and very wide as the defect u mentioned its not a defect its how the bands are made layers as for handles it's great a must have so as pros and cons i see their pros are much better i don't regret buy it that's my point of view
@DisciplineDave2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your point of view, I know that the band is long so it can be used anywhere but Undersun has the same concept with a different design that can be used anywhere but Undersun’s quality is MILES ahead of clench’s door anchor and the Undersun can go around even larger objects while not being to long for your door. I would recommend that you try the Undersun door anchor you’ll see what I’m talking about. Thanks for your input.
@gamalt2 жыл бұрын
@@DisciplineDave i have one but clench anchor has the benefit of anchoring many bands to it not just one and secondly when i was training with undersun with that anchor the band snapped suddenly of course they send another one to me but when i read many comments some people say that the plastic part is the reason the band snap as its a little sharp on edges so i stop using it
@DisciplineDave2 жыл бұрын
I understand my friend. Atleast you have it a try. Maybe my opinion will change after using it for months and I’ll do an updated video like I did for Undersun. 👍🏾
@CarlosBenjamin Жыл бұрын
My experience was the opposite of yours. I did like their door anchor for the simple reason that I could load multiple sets of bands on it at once and could go to heavier bands (or combinations of bands) very quickly. I didn’t care for the handles for several reasons: I couldn’t figure out how to store the bands on them when not in use. When I did use the handles for exercise, the open side of the handle would either dig into my palms, or into my fingers depending on how I loaded them up. I don’t use them for anything any more.
@DisciplineDave Жыл бұрын
That has been my experience also over time with the handles. I just use the bands now and I LOVE the bands. My take on the door anchor remains the same because every door anchor I’ve ever used can load multiple bands. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
