Nice video, it made me finally I ordered one (the red one) after much looking around. Was out of the hobby for a decade but wondered into RC shop a couple of weeks ago to kill time and thought I should get my stuff up and running again. Also though I should try a rock crawler and clerk recommended a TRX-4 but it was $700+ (I'm also in Canada), which would be about as much as my 1/8 Hyper brushless truggy so I passed. Anyway, looking forward to getting one in my hands and having as much fun as you seem to have.

Good day sir, I just bought a used "Beluga"" without battery, but my available battery at the moment is a Li ion type. My question is where would you place the pin on the esc , in the Lipo or NiMH. No selection for Li ion in the esc. Thanks and more power to your channel.

Nice buy! Great truck dude. LiPo and Li-Ion run under the same principles for low voltage cut off. Put the pin in LiPo 👍 If you have it in NiMH mode the battery will drain until it's completely flat. If that that happens with a lipo or lithium ion, it will take it past the point of recovery and you will never be able to charge that battery again. Hope that helps bud

Can confirm that Hobbywing ESCs are good. Used one as a replacement in my first gen E Revo after going through 3 of the stock Traxxas ESCs... it has more punch and better modulation for a fraction of the price!

Not all Hobbywings are equal. The 1060 is marginal at best, while the 1080 is awesome for a brushed crawler. The 1040 that comes in a lot of large scale trucks is straight up dog shit.

I just ordered one for my wife and me. Are those 4.2 tires on 1.9 wheels? It will be our second 1/10, first was a redcat ascent but we wanted something more scale looking for out next one. Is it still holding up? Plastic gears sketch me out a bit.

Yep 1.9, but are just a bit smaller than 4.2. I've thrashed on the transmission pretty hard and it's held up well. It's a great truck for the price 👍

Some do yes, the motor will work, no issue. This has more in common with standard 1/10 parts than it does with Traxxas. It just looks Traxxas-esque

There is no way in hell I'd buy an off brand RC vehicle unless there were a large number of replacement/compatible parts for them. I'm not talking about little easily replaced things, but the little bits that break and that's all she wrote. My cheapest large scale crawler is the FMS Atlas, but at least I know that FMS is good with the cheap spare parts. I have enough spares to rebuild a couple times. I have better stuff, but am drawn to the power wagon style so I drive it a lot. Being able to freely get parts is important to me.

I totally get your point. HB Toys has been around for awhile now and has a few 1/10's with matching part numbers. The Atlas is nice for the same price, but I just feel with the portals and styling, this one appeals to me more. Guess that's what makes this hobby great, there's something out there for everyone's taste 👍😎

I think for the price, yes it's totally the best. Great starter that can be modified with a lot of standard bit you can get for 1/10 scale trucks. The body does have to come off, but it has hidden clips and is super easy. I don't recommend charging batteries while they are inside the vehicle though. It's best to take them out and charge well away from anything combustible. Make sure you keep an eye on it from time to time as well 👌

A great looking truck with plenty of scale details, a 2-speed gearbox, good electronis and excellent performance - all at a price that is hard to pass up! 👍 I mean, VERY tempting but.....?! I really do find it difficult to support these overseas companies that clone (rip-off?) the designs of established manufacturers. You know all the reasons why you should support local businesses so, I won't bore you with the details. Funny thing is, some of these overseas companies are making great products and deserve a fair shot . However, blatantly copying another manufacturer's product just doesn't sit right with me. It's more inline with typical 1/10 crawlers. I've torn it apart and aside from looking similar, the internals are quite different. Wheel wise, Traxxas hexes don't fit at all

It is too pricy for what it is, a clone that has mess it with the lights and other details. TRX4M is chaper, it is not a clone and it is quite enjoiable. BUT if you have the nice real one ... I probably will try to go for one of this to keep the other in the best saphe and mod this one to be a beast and try new things. But out of the box ... not for me.

The quality is still very questionable. The gears, the plastics, shocks, bearings, the entire drivetrain... It's not just about the fancy features or electronics. For example Traxxas is known for using some of the highest grade plastics out there. Better save up and get the proper thing, you won't ever regret unlike this one.

I won't disagree, but I will say that for 1/3 the price, you are getting an amazing value. I've put 14 - 5200mah 3s packs through this thing, driving it hard...really hard, and nothing has broken. Check out the upgraded version video to see what I mean. For people who don't want to commit to spending a lot because they are new to the hobby, this is a great jump off point 👍
