Hiya, HUGE thanks for watching! So what was your BIGGEST discount hair care find? I’d LOVE to know… 👨🏼🛍️🙌🏻
@wondertwin13Ай бұрын
I have a question if you don’t mind😊 I recently found a bundle discount deal on Chi Keratin reconstructing shampoo/conditioner/leave in spray conditioner. My hair feels gross after using the shampoo & rinse out conditioner, so I stopped using it. Is there a reason it makes my hair feel weird?
@theworldofcraigАй бұрын
@wondertwin13 I don’t mind at all! I’m afraid I’m not aware of that brand so I don’t have any idea why it didn’t make your hair feel great..?

I’ve just subscribed and am binging and loving all your shop up vids. I’m an extremely fine haired, 60 plus curly girl who’s been following the no silicone/SLS rules for the last few years. But I do miss silicones and so does my hair! We’re encouraged to use oils that also coat and can build up on hair but not silicones?!? They both wash out with a good clarifying shampoo so I’m starting to question what the difference really is. After watching and listening to people in the hair community, like yourself, who have years of knowledge behind them, it’s great to hear a voice of reason in the debate. There are some fab sulphate and silicone free products out there but they ain’t cheap so it’s nice to know that the drugstore ‘hair baddies’ out there aren’t as nasty as they’re made out to be. Thank you! 😊

Thank you, really appreciate your support. Silicones really aren’t bad for curly/wavy/textured hair, some hair can really benefit from them - remembering that a lot of it is down to personal preference. And yes, agreed, the curly “gang” can get very dictatorial, when really it’s about what suits.

Love the information you give about formulations. The last couple of years I stopped using silicone based products , until recently. I have fine, color treated longer wavy/curly hair and I thought the "no-cones" would improve the hair. Now I can say it's not. I guess instead of not using the 'cones' stopping coloring would have given a more improvement as it comes to get stronger hair. But now I start using the silicones again, I notice a BIG difference in hairloss in comparison to the years I skipped them and being more 'naturel' as it comes to formulations. People might think I have more hairloss now, but in fact it's the opposite, which makes my think , and with that I would like to ask you if my thoughts are realistic : " fine hair is more fragile, esp. when it's color treated, so using some silicones in formulations really do help with the slip and reduces the amount of hairloss/ hair breakage tremendously. " (I use the Eleven Australia detangler leave-in OR the Eleven Australia Miracle leave in, and their Serum) . I know a lot of people would probably say 'of course, it's logical' but as a person who was in a 'curly world' for long time, it's the opposite of what is being told for so long. I now convinced myself that the silicones aren't the bad ones , I experienced that myself . Reason to ask you your opinion about this whole "yes or no to silicones' is that in this video I heard you saying a couple of times about the 'yes or no' to silicones for those who do care about that. I really can imagine some people avoid it, it depends on hairtype and more important , how they manage their hair, which makes me think that it isn't a 'one size fits all' solution to avoid the -cones. I'm interested how you think about this :) thank you again, love all the information x

That’s great, so glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching and sharing your insight. As I mention it a lot of my videos, I’m a big fan (of most types of) dimethicone in haircare, for all the reasons you mention.

In the world of shampoos and conditioners, I have the hardest time deciphering which are color safe. I maintain my root gray coverage with demi permanent color. Because all the charts are different, I feel like I will never know if my natural color is a 4 or a 5. Great mysteries of the universe. 😂
@theworldofcraig2 ай бұрын
I have several videos on shampoos - “How to get the BEST out of shampoo” & “what is clean beauty” might be helpful - the other shop up videos in the playlist also go into what’s colour safe. There is some minor differences but there’s not a lot between 4…5.

Another great video thanks. I have coloured level 5 hair and I have a big problem with neutalising the red/orange tones it seems to fade to. I've tried every blue shampoo I can think of even fenola (strong pigment) and it's done very little apart from make it dry. I use Wella CT but they don't seem to have much to neutralise it in the level 5-6, any suggestions would be appreciated 😊. Im now going to pass this video on to some customers who are always asking me about shampoo's and ingredients, then I'll work my way through the rest of your "shop ups," much appreciated, there's no one with as much information as you on here👍😊

Thank you, really pleased you enjoyed it, thanks for watching. It sounds (I can’t be specific remotely) like you need more than a pigmented shampoo - I would recommend a formula with Shades EQ Gloss VB/M/N it. The VB is violet/blue…the M has a little green in it…and the N would balance the other two. The VB/M are very powerful so you’d have to go steady…and the result would look quite a bit darker. Awww, thank you, that’s very kind. 👨🏼🙏🏻✨

I'm a hairstylist and I don't get mad that professional products are at places like TK Maxx. Sometimes I'll see products that are even cheaper than at the hair supply stores and it's an opportunity to try something new and if you don't like it then you didn't pay a lot for it. I haven't used any Dyson hair tools yet. But my go to blow dryer and other hair tools is FHI Heat (a pro brand that I feel is kinda underrated but amazing!) if you are unfamiliar with it, I've seen at places like TK Maxx and paid way less for it. Also, there are clients who want to use professional products but can't always afford to pay for it if they buy it at a salon. So I really don't see it as such a bad thing.
@theworldofcraig2 ай бұрын
Agreed, I often do the same…it’s great to try new things and if I can get them cheaper than wholesale..! I was gifted some blow dryers last year and just didn’t get on with them, it’s my trusty Parlux (v old school) for me. Thanks for watching 👨🏼🙏🏻✨
