Love the purple shampoo tip! I just removed permenant level 6 Warm Brown from my hair, lightened it to a level 8-9 and appliled 9/16 Color Touch. Salesperson at the beauty shop gave me purple shampoo and I thankfully, haven't used it yet. It scared me when I poured some onto my hand and I saw how thick and deep purple it was.

I had asked a few ppl, and I think you were one of them, about toning natural hair and you hit on that right away. I was soooo happy!! I was looking at eSalon tonight to get the right stuff to color my hair to a light blonde... level 8 I believe... it's got 20 vol. which I thought was good. The whole pkg is $15 for the first purchase. I was thinking I wanted to add some of the platinum highlights like you did Sunny. That was beautiful. Thank you so much for this video. It's just what I needed!! 😊😊❤❤

I’m a new follower Craig and enjoy your videos. I’m gaining a lot of knowledge from them. My wee gripe is the lack of information for us with shorter pixies especially the bleaching and toning process….im sure all your followers don’t have the boring at times long hair. Can you post topics for us shortie lovers please😊

Hi Sandra, thanks for watching and for following along. I’ll keep that in mind but being totally honest, the colouring process isn’t so involved, so that’s not so much scope to create around it. I do love a good short haircut!

I would give anything to have you do my hair. I started and found you a week ago and can’t stop watching your videos Having lupus amd other med issues , the meds have severally dried my hair. 😢 went to a salon 6months ago and she left the bleach in over 1.5 hours, my head and scald was burned and despite me crying in head pain she kept telling me to hold on. Finally i for up and turned on the water and rinse the bleach out myself, my hair was so fried and i have not touched it since, been 8 months now, it’s recovering with lots of deep condition, and lots of prayers, no hot tools etc. I had to cut off almost 5 inches. God is so good, it growing, looks much better but my roots are very dark brown, grey roots smd hair is orange, ugh😢 i don’t even know what to do i dont feel good about myself, low self esteem, as i and beautiful healthy hair. healthy tips for better recovery, product recommendations etc. Thank you, i love how you share and care about all your followers. thank you Craig, I colour my hair at home as I am now about 70% grey and have to do it every 2 weeks 😩 when I was younger my hair was around level 2 - 3. (Oh how I miss my dark roots!) I use 8NN gold well TC but I find the freshly coloured root and the baby hair above my temples very warm, is there a toner you would suggest that would work to knock out some of the orange/red? but.....I dont do anything with the ends, where the colour fades it gives me a blonde balayage look but those ends are a bit flat looking and I would like to give them a slightly golden blonde. I have tried shades EQ and gold well toners without success, any handy tips would be very much appreciated and thank you for your content, really informative
@theworldofcraig4 ай бұрын
You’re welcome, thanks for watching. I would suggest tweaking your formula a little, perhaps adding something a little cool to it..? In order to time the warmth out the formula would have to be deeper, which would make the hairline quite dark - I do go over the theory of it in my other toning videos, which are all in a playlist.
@jacqueline-114 ай бұрын
Craig, love your content and you have won me over. Im learning so much about the shades eq line by watching them over and over. My hair was lifted to a light blonde for many years at the salon before I stopped going and grew my hair out I’ve never had brown hair for this long. I need to go back to blonde. I’m around a level 5/6 virgin hair now and would like to go back to light blonde highlights in combination with shades eq color melt with a root tap. My question is what range should my root tap be? Can I go up a level on medium/light brown maybe 6n 6na for root do my mids then have to stay in the 7 range meaning should the melt formulas work best when using the shades eq in succession if this makes sense. For example if I start with a 6 or 7 root tap, do I then have to keep bumping up a number like then 8, 9, 10 for mids and ends? Sorry if this doesn’t make sense. I’m still learning how to mix and am thinking seq levels should keep going up one level to achieve a seamless melt especially when coloring long hair. Also I want to keep it light and no golden shades. Sorry if I’m confusing in my many questions ❤
@theworldofcraig4 ай бұрын
Awww, that’s great, thanks for watching. I would suggest you have a look at some of my root shadowing videos - they all content SEQG and the formulas. Perhaps you’re over thinking it a little, Shades EQ is very “forgiving” and you don’t need to be very specific about going up (or down) in increments.

Thank you for your expertise your videos have helped me so much and I adore your sparkling personality too! I have been binge watching and love your channel I used to live in London too, many years ago near the marble arch stop, during my design school days! I have a question, please, my hair is in healthy condition, straight bob just below my chin so the hair is kinda fresh b/c it's short, been using 10n color charm permanent dye, only on the roots, sans toners. My hair is identical in color to this video with Sunny. My natural hair about 8/9 neutral blond with about 50, silver in the front and about 30 silver in the back, thus I got the 10n in the loop about every 6 weeks.. My hair kinda has some slightly darker 1 inch wide ribbons, where there is less silver when I color, it looks like lowlights almost, I love it all, but could I switch to box die 12c with 20 volume and also do my whole head one time? The idea is to have more time between root touch ups. I have used this combo before on my roots only and loved it about 5 years ago, I know it will blend nicely with the silver bits as it grows, more so than straight 10n and I know color doesn't lift color but won't it slightly lift and tone the rest of my hair? I love my sunny warm blond but just need to adjust the warmth just a tiny tad to match the root grow out a little more, then I can go like 2-3 months until I do root touch ups, I am not ready to go with silver and grey hair! I am hoping to avoid using bleaching methods. For the record I agree with you as a blond my whole life, I never use the toner shampoos and such, it makes my hair dull/lackluster, looks unnatural and I prefer the pale warm tones with gorgeous high shine better, I have been at least five different shades/levels of blond over the years and I always come back to 10n and I don't need to use toners, but that shades eq clear gloss sounds so beautiful and looks easy to try out! It is so important as you say, to go with what compliments your skin tone, lifestyle, ect. Today ash blondes are everywhere but the color its elf can be harsh and make you look old, with dull hair if you don't get it just right. imho!! Okay thank you and wow your work and your channel really have made my day, I love it! Artists like you who really see the colors and shapes of our hair really don't come along everyday, you have exquisite taste and transform beautifully, since I can't be there in your chair, the next best thing is to watch and learn! Love you dear!!

Hi there, thank you for watching and for your kind words…London says HELLO! I’m not sure what 12c is (from which line?) and as I mention in my more recent videos it’s really tricky for me to give specific, individual advice on formulas/processes remotely. It sounds to me like you have a good thing going on with the Color Charm and introducing a permanent colour could give a very different result with your hair being multi tonal. 👨🏻🙏🏻🌞

Hi Craig - I've found you at last! Loving your videos. Quick question - what can I use on my largely grey/white hair to get light blonde highlights that aren't yellow. I saw you mention Wella Color Touch toner in 10/6 for use after you highlight the hair with bleach but just wanted to know if this will give me too much of a silver result. I'm having to colour my hair at home as I can't afford a salon so want to keep it simple. Thanks xx
@theworldofcraig5 ай бұрын
Hi there, that’s great, fab toy have you following along. Hmmm, afraid that’s an impossible one to answer remotely - most hair colour will “stain” your grey and then you’ll get a regrowth of some kind - there’s also so much to how we see colour…what you think is “blonde…not yellow” won’t be the same as what I see… Perhaps try a gentle colour conditioner…although even they can deposit a lot of tone on grey hair.

After 12 years of the same products and application (at a salon), my hair isn’t lifting to a pale yellow (inside of a banana peel). I heard you talk about going past the manufacturer’s max limit for leaving lightener on hair (while monitoring closely). My stylist does not want to go past the max limit even though it isn’t lifting enough. (They do not have a lot of blonde clients, so experience seems limited and the bleach product is not a name brand - Ion Bright White Powder). They tried toning “above the level” and clearly it didn’t work to get out the orange. Their conclusion was there must be something different with my hair and it can no longer reach the previous lift and can’t hold the toner. Any thoughts or recs? Do you think a more experienced colorist might be able to assess the situation?
@theworldofcraig4 ай бұрын
I almost always go past the guideline times on global bleaches - but I understand hair pro’s not wanting to. It is about confidence through knowledge and I find scalp bleaching is the thing that causes the most anxiety in a lot of colorists. Hard for me to comment without every tiny bit of “history” and seeing your hair but hair doesn’t stop being able to be lifted…there are so many parts of a process that can be tweaked to get a result.

@davidbillows-op8vvАй бұрын
@@theworldofcraig you have mentioned using a clarifying shampoo in this video to remove a buildup of purple shampoo I use a cheap SLS shampoo about once a month and can feel a difference to my hair So I was thinking could a SLS shampoo be used in general instead of a clarifying shampoo to remove product build up thanks
@theworldofcraigАй бұрын
@davidbillows-op8vv Ahhh, I see - SLS doesn’t strip colour, it’s not clarifying. I can see why folks might think it is but that’s just brands pushing “clean”. It’s an excellent surfactant and great at cleansing. So no, I’d get a designated clarifier.

Craig gray video however Sunny's hair naturally is absolutely the perfect blonde color anyhow using this process on a medium blonde and those toners definitely would not give you this she's almost like a perfect strawberry golden ultra light blonde naturally

Thank you…and thanks for watching. I do go over that in the video and yes, Sunny is a brilliant starting point. The thought behind the video is that a level 10 is needed if you want (the highlighted part) a light bright blonde. It can be achieved on a deeper base, the highlights just need to be built up over several sessions. 👨🏻🙏🏻✨
