For the last couple of days, I have been listening to your discourse. I express my gratitude to you from afar because your words are enabling me to change my perceptions about my journey. The calm that you exude is incredible. I aspire to be in this vibration. I understand it is a process that takes years and lifetimes , but nevertheless I still wish to take a small step at a time.🙏

I was recently diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. As part (only part) of the treatment I will receive chemotherapy. I have become terrified of this as well as made peace with it. It's a rollercoaster right now. My mother sent me a link 🔗 and was quite .... Urgent about my listening to your words. She was correct that I need this information right now. I am so grateful to you for your journey and for being willing to share these vulnerabilities.

how amazing, starting with humility of what have I produced, the humor and the wisdom and manner of speech, love to listen and follow, nice to hear "Ty"'s name and how he finds himself as a disciple of Ty to realize his desire of having many plum villages around the world I wish we had one in our neighborhood

The story of the slow settling within the hut I could feel Thay's presence. Everything quieted and rested back. It is amazing that Thay's presence gives no energy to my personality mind. It is deep listening and peace that blossoms. It is amazing how this presence has reached us all. Thank you dear Br Phap Dung for transmitting this story to us all.

Thank you Br Phap Dung so very useful, I will visualise this island, a cabin I can take refuge in. I liked the practice of enjoying those neutral tasks, brushing teeth, folding clothes. Body and mind being one so really consciously physically acting mindful in what I do, getting out of bed, eating my food. Feel calmer watching this.

We need to learn to create the sunshine, white clouds, the moonlight, the lake, the flowers, the mountain stable inside ourselves. Giving ourselves this homegrown gift of the island of mindfulness of true refuge then we can (eventually) share presence with others who also have need of dependable refuge - a precious teaching from our teacher Thay.

Such a good, inspiring, talk. Especially towards the end. I had listened to Thich Nhat Hahn talking of the hut which the storm had caused upset inside - and I had always liked his story - but your idea on how you use this story is inspiring. thank you!

Thank You For You Br Phap Dung, i laughed when you said this practice is not good for the economy or self image or relationships "Truer Than True!", gave me big smile . Island of self, i like the analogy, as a former Brahma Kumari, there was a notion of being isolated on an island, the world was illusion & bad for Meditation. Since i went back in the world, this Island became flooded with em-ocean, now i dwell within The Island, i have no desire to be caught up & have become easier with being an observer. The analogy of doing things that are neutral, i will pay some mind to these things & be grateful. Just the other day i thanked my vital organs & the body for getting me through so many tough times & hearing you say you observe this also, gave me confirmation that i am on the Path. I have saved the last half hour of this share to listen to tonight. Again Thank You!

Wonderful peaceful people. Am struggling with why you choose to live apart from the world for ever. . Your peaceful voices are needed among us. We are all useful in our own little way. Retreats are wonderful to energize ….re-energize…and then we go forth and tackle life knowing that we all should take time to “Pause” and start all over again.

Do all Buddhist monks in plum village read or watch the news daily? If no (I understand) if yes, is it required? I ask this because as a sensitive person it's not wise to watch. It's to the point I don't watch it or read it or I'll lose my job

How could Oneself saves others, when Oneself couldn't even save Oneself? To paraphrase Lao Tzu, he says, Don't try to set the World to One's order, because the World can always set itself to order all the time, since time immemorial!
