I am not a priest, and it is with a heartfelt and frightened sense that I presume to speak the words of this man, this saint. St. Alphonsus Liguori was born in 1696 living on this earth until 1787. When I read these words which recollect the deeply held beliefs and actions of those who have come before us, I am struck with a sense of sadness and humility that so many of us in these days would look at these teachings with disbelief and even disdain. For me, this experience of reading aloud these writings has shaken me, and I only pray that it shakes me more to see the Light of Christ more clearly and to walk with Him more dearly. St. Alphonsus, pray for us.

Thank you father, chastity is such a misunderstood subject but since I was a small child I understood it's vital importance to ones moral state. Such an important subject yet there's so little teachings on the matter. Being born in Sodom I can't think of a more needed pursuit for modern people.

St Alphonsus pray for me. Pray for US! (and the U.S). Please watch the warning or illumination of conscience by Christine Watkins. Then The Papacy can NOT be destroyed. Then Don’t call protestant’s Christian. Remember there’s ONLY ONE CHURCH the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. Protestant so called churches DON’T EXIST! Praise Jesus and Mary always!!!

Being a woman and a daughter is so hard when everyone moderns pushes you to go for it all. Hearing all the stories of facial disfigurement in hopes of maintaining chastity to their heavenly spouse makes me think of the scene in George R R Martin’s books where his dwarf lost his nose completely making him more ugly than before. He ends up married to a great beauty facing the charge of murder for his nephew and father, probably gonna die alone in exile because you can’t untie the Meereenees knot.
