I love the last sentence: "You don't have to add something; you have to drop something." That's brilliant - so true.

I lost everything before I was 20 years old. Lost my health, my home, my job, my family. Over time, I realized this was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. I have lived a peaceful, basic, happy life since then.

@@howardcohen6817-I have been retired for 16 years. I’m 64. Once a person realizes their needs are simple, acquisition is meaningless while time and enjoying life is meaningful. The only thing I lacked was healthcare. In retrospect, it caused me to take very good care of myself, and in a few short months, I will get Medicare. I made it!! 😊

@@IMadeThis123 Good for you. I've been on vacation my entire adult life (am 69) and am glad to meet up with someone who finds meaning in the enjoyment of life and good health.

I've watched several of your videos and loved them all. However, I think I need to watch them more than once, as somehow, at least for me, I need to be reminded of all those gold nuggets of wisdom. Thank you so much for sharing.

Love your videos! Would like love to potentially see a video about how/why you started on the spiritual paths and the trials and tribulations that you have faced over the years.

I think I've learned to align with this. Feeling dissatisfied, restless, and wanting more clearly isnt the path to follow. Embracing JOMO, and the peace that comes with it, works for me.

I'm reminded of Argus, that 100-eyed monster, from whom Mercury saved baby Hercules by telling it stories and playing music until each eye closed and Argus was fast asleep before being slain and Mercury was able to abscond with Hercules. Happiness-blockage is like Argus who must be distracted, misdirected and debilitated through boredom and weariness. Two other metaphors: In order to enjoy the faint star which is not visible in the city sky, it is of no help to turn the lights on - rather all must agree to turn their lights off for the star to become visible. With the small army of four there would be no chance to negotiate through the battalion of well armed soldiers in order to get to the jail and free the prisoner. Providing the army with a carton of Vodka,though, in the early evening does the trick, very well. Happiness is right there and on-hand for all and everyone who knows how to placate Argus. Love.

I think happiness is just a misinterpreted word. Right now, for me, real happiness would just be the lack of suffering.

How old are you? Are you single? Because i think that only a partner and a child can make me happy 😢 i'm 40
@AwakenInsight9 ай бұрын
I'm a bit older, single and without children, and I'm quite happy. I have also met many people who are married and have children who are deeply miserable... not that being married or having children is necessarily the cause of their misery... but it certainly doesn't guarantee happiness. Probably the people in that situation who are the most unhappy are those who believed it would make them happy.
@Ciskuss9 ай бұрын
@@AwakenInsight thank you. Can you make a video about this topic? How can you be happy as a single man (or woman), childess in older years? Society stigmatize a lot
@0Ciju09 ай бұрын
I am 31 and I am starting to feel this sentiment. The more I delve into it, I think it is tied to our purpose as men. If we are unable to find something truly worth sacrificing for, our natural inclination is reproduction, and our "purpose" becomes ensuring the growth, development and safety of a little person.
@howardcohen68179 ай бұрын
I'm surprised that you'd write this way after hearing Nada tell us that "happiness" is not found outside of oneself or in external situations. How do you imagine that a child and/or a partner could contribute to your happiness? I'm often concerned with how I might help the next person in their quest for happiness - but I know that also this is not achievable. Nevertheless, I wish you happiness. Love.
@howardcohen68179 ай бұрын
@@AwakenInsight May I disagree? I feel that everyone is already happy(if only they knew!). But the not yet joyous ones feed and concentrate on the part of us separating us from desired happiness.
