Repped for Treasury years ago, had the the pleasure of being stationed on a table with Peter at my first Penfolds Re-corking clinic - a client came to the table, took a wrapped bottle out a handbag passes it to Peter who unwraps with a smile commenting “You have a $12,000 wine there” then hands it to me to open - definitely some nerves 😂 it was a 59’ Grange, cork needed a little scrub and the double helix corkscrew trick meant the cork was no trouble - it was in great condition, had a small taste after Peter assessed it. The clinics are amazing to work and to bring wines along to🎖️🍷

Great interview Brendan. What a great ambassador Peter is for Penfolds and the Australian wine industry. Can't help thinking that if I could taste just 5% of the calibre of wines Peter would have tasted over his lifetime . . . . I would be an extremely happy man !

Love the question about the logistics of blending 'wine of the world'. Never even considered how hard that would be!!

The combo of deep experience and humbleness that peter exudes is world class. Great interview, hope it gets the eye balls it deserves (and more!)

Peter does have that magical combo! Maybe he should give lessons on how to be both experienced and humble at the same time.
