Thank you for sharing the video! I have made chicken teriyaki many times with chicken breast meat. Tonight i made it following your video with thigh meat and my kid says it's the best that I've ever made! I served it over rice and with vegetable tempura.

I didn’t have chicken, but I did have salmon and it turned out great! Plus a little wasabi in the mix and loved it. Did you use a dressing on the salad?
@justonecookbook5 ай бұрын
I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it! Yes. I put a dressing on the salad. I included the information in "What to Serve With Chicken Teriyaki" in my website's recipe post. I hope this helps!

Hello Nami, does it matter which kind of sake we use for the teriyaki sauce? There are so many choices!
@justonecookbook5 ай бұрын
You can use inexpensive bottles of sake. More information is available here. 🤗 www.justonecookbook.com/sake/

Hi! Could I skip the sake if I don’t have it just for today and would it make a big difference?
@justonecookbook5 ай бұрын
Thank you for trying my recipe! Sake adds a slight sweetness and umami to the dish. I discussed it further in my recipe post, but if you don't have it, you can use dry sherry or Chinese rice wine. You can substitute water or dashi, but the taste may differ. Hopefully, this helps! 🙂

I want Kenji Lopez-Alt to make & eat this, and compare it to all the teriyaki chicken he's been eating across Seattle!

Haha! I'm sure Kenji has his own way to make teriyaki chicken and does not need to make my recipe. ;)

Can it make the skin side dry? would it be better?
@justonecookbook5 ай бұрын
If you use skin-on, like I do, place the skin side on and makes it crispy. You coat the chicken, skin side up, with the sauce. But chicken teriyaki is not a dish with crispy skin as a final dish. :)
