Well understandably explained - thank you very much for your video! Had some enlightening moments 😃 One question: what does the red and the white color of the muscles shown in the pictures mean?
@AalayaPilates4 жыл бұрын
Hi Viola, Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the core muscle tutorial. The red areas are the *Abdominal Muscles* , and the white areas are the *Aponeuroses* . I hope this helps with your understanding of the tutorial. *Abdominal muscles* form the anterior and lateral abdominal wall. From superficial to deep they consist of the external abdominal oblique's, the internal abdominal oblique's, rectus abdominis, and the transversus abdominis. Working together these muscles form a wall that protects the internal organs and maintains an erect posture. Additionally, these muscles' contraction helps the lungs' expiration and increases the pressure in the abdominal cavity for actions such as in sneezing, defecating, lifting, coughing, and childbirth. *Aponeuroses* are quite similar to a broad, flat tendon that look pearly white due to being comprised of connective tissue. They attach sheet-like muscles that need a wide area of attachment. Primary functions are to join muscle to other body parts, whether that be bone or other muscle. Anterior abdominal aponeuroses are located just superficial to the rectus abdominis. It has borders for the external oblique, pectoralis muscles, and the latissimus dorsi. Happy workouts 😃💪
